Manufacturer.
Customers continue to receive a personal service
while the internal processes are executed automatically
and in a standardized manner in the
background. Customer quotations and order handling
are thus dealt with in a matter of seconds,
independently of time zones. The telephone and
e-mail communication required previously to
check on the progress of an order can be dispensed
with, because the entire order history is available
online. This saves time and ensures a faster, improved
service to the customers.
The project has set standards in respect of international
spread and standardization. The locations
responsible for spare parts in Copenhagen,
Frederikshavn, Holeby (Denmark), Saint-Nazaire
(France), Stockport (United Kingdom) and Augsburg
(Germany) worked closely together to offer
the global organization the entire range of engines
and turbochargers in the webshop. To do
this it was necessary to clean up the master data
of 5,000 engines and 6,000 turbochargers. These
had to be standardized and prepared for availability
in an electronic process.
Following the start of the roll-out in Belgium, Singapore,
Canada and Greece, the internal webshop
will be available to the entire global organization
by the middle of 2014.
