Dear Readers,
each of the many and diverse projects that we
accomplish with our customers is fascinating in
its own right. Whether it relates to commercial
shipping, the oil and gas industry, the production
of basic materials or cement, cruise liners or
decentralized power generation, every project has
its own intriguing story. It tells of technological
expertise, of convinced customers and not least
of the deployment of our workforce numbering
over 14,000 people.
Just recently we have realized a wide variety of
projects that demonstrate the trust that our
customers worldwide put in our ability to solve
even the most difficult problems: floating power
plants that supply energy where it is urgently
needed. Efficient drives for the world’s biggest
ships, which are also the cleanest thanks to our
technology. A 24/7 service capability thanks to
specialists working day and night for our customers
across the globe. Dedication leading to longterm
partnerships, such as with the customer
who has been won over repeatedly for more than
20 years by our innovative turbomachinery.
Our work is characterized by the needs of a globalized
world with a growing population and its demand
for more energy, increasing trade and rising
production, paralleled by the quest for improved
resource efficiency. Whether as a supplier of marine
engines or complete power plants, turbochargers,
compressors, chemical reactors or turbines,
MAN Diesel & Turbo makes an important
contribution to all of these. How we do it is what
we want to show you in this magazine, with reference
to a few examples.
