<strong>SECTION</strong> <strong>32</strong> - <strong>FLOOD</strong> <strong>PLAIN</strong> <strong>ZONE</strong> (<strong>FP</strong>)<br />

The “<strong>FP</strong>” zone is to be implemented where studies and detailed mapping have been<br />

approved by the appropriate Conservation Authority. The “<strong>FP</strong>” Zone applies to the flood<br />

plain (which includes floodway and the flood fringe). The “<strong>FP</strong>” Zone boundaries are<br />

intended to be coincident with the outer boundaries <strong>of</strong> the “Flood Plain” as shown on the<br />

detailed mapping approved by the appropriate Conservation Authority.<br />

<strong>32</strong>.1 Permitted Uses, Buildings, and Structures<br />

(a) a public park;<br />

(b) conservation;<br />

(c) forestry;<br />

(d) recreational trails; and<br />

(e) public works and utility facilities.<br />

<strong>32</strong>.2 Permitted Buildings and Structures<br />

Within the floodway portion <strong>of</strong> the flood plain only those buildings and structures<br />

necessary for flood or erosion control work or for necessary municipal services shall<br />

be permitted, to the extent allowed by the regulations made under the Conservation<br />

Authorities Act, as amended.<br />

Within the flood fringe portion <strong>of</strong> the flood plain the permitted uses, buildings, and<br />

structures in the “<strong>FP</strong>” Zone shall be the same as those that are permitted in the<br />

applicable “adjacent” Zone as identified on Schedule “A” - Zone Maps to this By-law<br />

in accordance with the policies set forth in Section 13 <strong>of</strong> the County <strong>of</strong> <strong>Perth</strong> Official<br />

Plan, and Section 5.8.5.2 <strong>of</strong> the Listowel Ward Official Plan.<br />

EXPLANATORY NOTE: Uses, buildings and structures as permitted by Sections <strong>32</strong>.1 and<br />

<strong>32</strong>.2 above are to be permitted to the extent allowed by the<br />

regulations made under the Conservation Authorities Act.<br />
