BULB REPLACEMENT
The supplied 10 watt quartz Halogen lamp is a projection quality bulb. Operating
the lamp at full brightness for long periods reduces the bulb's life. Using the
dimmer will extend both bulb life and battery life.
If you suspect the bulb is burned out:
Check if the lamp will light by connecting the AC charger/adapter and powering
it. If the dimmer is set halfway and the bulb won't light it probably needs to
be replaced.
A Phillips screwdriver is the only tool required to replace the bulb; (replacement
bulb Vector part# VEC193). The replacement procedure is as follows:
1. Make sure the lamp switch is turned OFF.
2. Using the Phillips screwdriver, unscrew four screws that hold the shade
assembly to the base.
3. Set the screws aside.
4. Remove the shade and set it aside.
5. Using a clean soft cloth, grasp the bulb and pull the bulb straight up and remove
it. Set the bulb aside.
6. Using the clean cloth, grasp the new bulb and remove it from it's packaging.
Avoid touching the new bulb with bare skin.
7. Note the positions of the bulb's two metal pins and the small holes on the bulb
socket.
8. Insert the two pins of the new bulb into the socket and make sure they are fully
seated in the socket.
9. Turn on the dimmer and test operation of the bulb.
10. Turn off the lamp and place the shade assembly on the top of the base.
11. Loosely replace the four shade retaining screws.
12. Using the screwdriver, carefully tighten the screws to secure the shade
(clockwise). DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
13. Dispose of the burned out bulb in a responsible manner.
CLEANING
Over time, there may be dust or fingerprints on the lamp. If necessary clean the
lamp with, a soft clean oil-free cloth moistened with household window cleaner.
Do not use alcohol based cleaners on plastic surfaces. This will eventually cause
surface clouding. If the inside of the shade becomes dirty, disassemble as you
would for bulb replacement and clean with window cleaner as above.
BATTERY CARE
Lead-acid batteries require recharging on a regular basis to maintain a full charge
and to ensure good battery life. All lead-acid batteries suffer from self-discharge
over time and more rapidly when they are stored at higher temperatures. Therefore,
these types of batteries need periodic charging to replace energy lost through
self-discharge. When the lamp is not in use, Vector recommends that the battery is
recharged at least every 60 days. All batteries must be recharged as soon as possible
after each use. If a battery remains in a discharged state, battery life will be
reduced.
