Make a Year of Faith Pilgrimage
Join us on a
Bus Trip to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Register now with fellow parishioners for a day long bus trip to the Shrine of Our
Lady of Guadalupe in LaCrosse. Plans are underway for Wednesday, June 5 th !
Fr. Bill plans to attend!
The bus will leave the parish center early in the morning, arriving at the shrine
grounds to enjoy lunch at their café. There will be time to visit and pray at the
many devotional areas on the grounds, visit the gift shop, have a guided tour of
the shrine church, and celebrate Mass together. We would return by late afternoon/early
evening.
During our Year of Faith, the three Marian shrines in Wisconsin have been
designated as places of pilgrimage to obtain a plenary indulgence. We are
offering this opportunity to parishioners and their friends to enjoy a day away to
this beautiful shrine. The cost per person will depend on how many sign up to go
- we are estimating between $30-$40 each.
In order to confirm the plans with the shrine and the bus company, we have to
know how many will be attending – the bus seats 56 people.

NEW DIRECTOR OF LITURGY & MUSIC
Dr. Nicholas Poss has accepted the full-time position
of Director of Liturgy and Music starting in July. He
has a Ph.D. in Musicology and is presently teaching
at Ashland University in Ohio, and is Director of
Music at the Church of the Savior in Westerville,
Ohio. Both the interview/search committee and the
audition/choir group were very pleased with him
and feel he will bring many wonderful gifts to our
parish.
We will plan a welcome weekend for Nick when
he arrives.

Student Parishioner Recognized
for Extraordinary Service
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta parishioner Shaylan Reardon is
among 43 Divine Savior Holy Angels High School graduates to
receive the 25 th Annual Salvatorian Service Award. Sisters of
the Divine Savior established the award 25 years ago to
commemorate the centennial of their founding in 1888 in Tivoli,
Italy. The international religious community ministers in 29
countries and serves as religious sponsor for DSHA.
Service learning is integral to DSHA’s college preparatory
curriculum, and students who go above and beyond service
hours required for graduation are eligible for the Salvatorian
Service Award. DSHA seniors are nominated by their parents,
approved by Campus Ministry, and affirmed by service mentors
from their volunteer sites. This year, those sites were as near
as a Milwaukee homeless shelter and as far as an
impoverished Haitian village. A final and important step in the
nomination process is the student’s one-on-one interview with a
Salvatorian Sister about setting a path to lifelong service.

Sidewalk Counselor Training, St. Jerome, Oconomowoc
Anyone interested in learning to be a sidewalk counselor is invited
to a training session at St. Jerome’s on Wednesday, May 29 th , at
6:30 p.m. in Marian Hall. Dan Miller, coordinator of the Milwaukee
40 Days for Life, will lead the session and provide the training
necessary to sidewalk counsel women who have shown up at the
abortion clinic and are considering aborting their unborn child.
Sidewalk counselors also provide resources to women leaving the
clinic who may have had an abortion. ALL ARE WELCOME. If

Holy Hill Basilica Celebrates 150 th Anniversary
Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki will commemorate the 150th
anniversary of the founding of The Basilica of the National
Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill, with a Mass on

re-dedicate the Shrine Chapel, as well as formally bless the
newly installed bronze doors. This special Mass,
