DID YOU NOTICE?
To make things a little less disruptive at Mass and more
secure, the ushers are following archdiocesan and parish
guidelines on how to handle money. They have been putting
the money in sealed plastic envelopes right after the
collection and are now putting it immediately in the safe. This
saves them coming up, usually during an inopportune time
during our prayer, and placing it in the sanctuary. But they
want you to know the money isn’t disappearing after your
offering, but it is being safely protected and accounted for! If
you have any questions or concerns please get in touch with
Fr. Bill Stanfield. Thanks.
Also, so we can clearly identify the ushers and
greeters, and know their names (helps us be more
welcoming and hospitable) they will begin wearing nametags.

Here are some more "kid friendly" ideas for your
cupboard and our food pantry shelves during the summer
months when the kids are home. Plenty of peanut butter is
a must. Speaking of which, what about trying a new flavor
of jam like raspberry or blackberry?
Hot dogs can provide an inexpensive lunch. How 'bout
jazzing them up with different relishes, flavored mustards,
ketchups, and barbecue sauces? Small jars of pickles,
both whole and sliced, would be great! Don't forget mayo
and salad dressings for those vegetable and pasta salads,
especially tasty and more nutritious when canned tuna,
salmon, and chicken are added. A big bowl of those will
serve more that one day's lunch or snack!
How about stocking some canned potato salad and
pickled three bean or other veggie salads too? Our patrons
love juice boxes, bottled water, and individual flavored
drinks. Little Debbie and Hostess type products along with
packaged krispie bars and brownies are winners. We've
seen single serving sizes of sandwich cookies, animal
crackers and cheddar crackers in the dollar stores. In fact
all of these items have been "eyeballed" in the dollar
stores. Did you know they're great supporters of our food
pantry? Thanks for giving them, and us, your business.

The International Pilgrim Virgin
Statue, which has been touring
the Americas since 1947, will be
visiting St. Charles Parish on
June 7 th . What a perfect day
for the visit, the Feast of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus and a
First Friday.
Our Lady of Fatima will be with
us for 8:30 a.m. Mass, followed
by a short presentation. At that
time she will be moved to the chapel to join us in
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She will remain
there through the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00
p.m. and prayers for the Reposition of the Blessed
Sacrament. The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue
was made by Jose Thedim based on the description
given by Sr. Lucia of Our Blessed Mother as she
appeared at Fatima, and it was then blessed by the
Bishop of Fatima before beginning its journey. Many
blessings have been attributed to Our Lady of
Fatima and this statue as it has toured throughout our
country. Please join us to honor Our Lady of Fatima
with her statue, and to adore Jesus in the Blessed
Sacrament on Friday, June 7 th any time from 8:30
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Charles in Hartland.

Brewing the Faith: June 12, 6:30pm
“We meet in the “Game Room” or the “Cellar” (both
downstairs) at Revere’s Wells Street Tavern, so we are away
from the bar and normal restaurant operations. We usually
provide some appetizers and get a couple Pitchers of beer
and water (we have soda for Theology on Tap, but usually no
one drinks them). We sit at tables and the presenter speaks
from the front of the room… so it’s not really like a “bar
scene” feel (or at least I don’t think it is) more of an informal

Come meet other young adults as we discuss different
topics and deepen our faith. Brewing the Faith is
a monthly, year-round speaker series for young
adults, married and / or single, in their 20's and 30's that
address the needs, questions, and interests of young adults.
Each night starts with appetizers and socializing at 6:30
p.m. with opening prayer at 7:00 p.m. with the talk
