From Jacyntha Shaw: As you are reading this bulletin on this beautiful Sunday morning,
your gifts of clothing, toys, food and school supplies are on their way to South Dakota for
our 9 th Annual Christmas Mission. The people of Pine Ridge have come to pray that we can
make the journey each year. They are so appreciative of all our help.
I reflect over the past eight trips and see how much it has changed, from a SUV full to a
16-ft box truck full. How many more people in this area dig a little deeper in their
pockets, watch for sales in February and sacrifice more so we can make life brighter for
the Native American people in Pine Ridge. Thank you!
Blessed Teresa parish is a fine example of how Jesus wants us to celebrate his birth.

Dear Friends,
We wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior Jesus
Christ. Not only do we await the Lord’s coming in glory but also his
renewed presence in our daily lives. This is the annual challenge of
Advent as we commemorate His birth on December 25 th .
A time of ―waiting‖ must always be for us a time of
preparation. What is important we plan for. According to present
Diocesan policy, I can retire at age 68. I will be 66 in January. As
Christians we look to the future with hope and faith.
As you know in 2007 we purchased 20 plus acres on Hwy VV.
We have also completed a feasibility study pertaining to a new
Church on that land. Renderings which were completed by Plunkett
Raysich Architects hang in the corridor outside Clare Hall in our
Parish Center.
I believe that when I retire (if not before), there should be a
definite sense of direction for our future. The consensus of
parishioners would be critical information to share with my successor.
Recently, I have appointed an ad hoc committee to address the
above concern. While I didn’t seek ―yes‖ people who agree with
me on each facet of our parish future, I did look for people who, I
believe, were ―open‖ and ―hopeful‖ in moving our parish into the
future. The following parishioners accepted an appointment to this
ad hoc committee:

We will move forward deliberately and stay in communication
with you our parishioners, Diocesan and District leaders,
congregations of our parish cluster, and our new Archbishop Jerome
Listecki. There is presently no timeline on the extent of our ad hoc
committee’s existence. Please keep this project and committee
members in prayer. You will be part of any final recommendations
as we move forward. We don’t know what the future holds but we
do know Who holds the future.

Advent Communal Penance Service
Monday, December 14, 7:00 pm
During Advent, the parishes of St. Anthony on the Lake,
St. Charles, Queen of Apostles, and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta will
hold a Communal Penance Service at St. Charles in Hartland. All
parishioners are encouraged to participate in this Sacrament to
prepare for the holy season of Christmas. We will not have a
penance service at Blessed Teresa during Advent.

Presently, several parish members have been
trained as Companions of the Eucharist. They will assist
me, as needed, in taking the Blessed Sacrament to the
homebound, nursing facilities and hospitals.
May I ask a favor? If you have any desire to
receive the Eucharist for a family member, etc., please
call Mary Jo Romportl, my administrative assistant,
at 966-2191. Both she and I will schedule Eucharistic visits.
Please do not call the parish nurse, the St. Vincent
de Paul members or the Christian Concerns committee.
All visits will be arranged through the parish office.

According to tax laws, contributions for 2009 must be in the
Parish Office by December 31, 2009 or in an envelope that is
postmarked no later than December 31, 2009. If we receive your
contributions and they don’t meet these requirements, they will
be credited to your 2010 account.
New tax law requires us to provide you itemized statements,
regardless of the contribution amount. Contribution statements
will be mailed at the end of January 2010. If you do not
receive yours, please contact the business office at 966-2191.

Wisconsin Right to Life - Waukesha Chapter will sponsor a
Pro-Life Ad to commemorate the January 22, 1973 Supreme
Court’s decision legalizing abortion on demand for any reason
from conception to birth. Everyone is invited to join in this
message by having their name listed in the ad supporting the
Pro-Life message. A sign-up sheet will be available at the
entrances of both churches, and at the parish office, along with
an envelope for donations.

Making Christmas Stockings
One Hundred and Nineteen stockings were made and
packed for the trip on December 13 th to the Pine Ridge
Reservation. School supplies, winter clothes, Giving Tree gifts
and more will be delivered this year. Thank you for sharing
the spirit of Christmas with them.
LIVING OUR FAITH TV PROGRAM
―Catholic Knights presents Living Our Faith,‖ a 30-minute
television program sponsored by the Archdiocese of
Milwaukee, returns for a third season on WISN TV 12 and on
Time Warner Cable’s Wisconsin on Demand Channel 411.
Archdiocesan Administrator Bishop William Patrick Callahan
will host the show this fall with Bob Dolan as his co-host.
The last Advent shows are scheduled for Saturday mornings,
at 11 am on December 19 and 26.
All episodes, including those from seasons one and two, are
available for viewing www.livingourfaith.net .
Christmas Cup of Tea Party
The Christian Women of the Blessed Teresa Parish
will gather Tuesday evening, December 15 th , in the
Parish Center for a ―Christmas Cup of Tea Party.‖
Refreshments and fellowship will begin at 7pm.
We’ll share the warmth of the season with tales of
Christmas traditions and a ―show and tell‖ from those
with treasures that give special meaning to their
Christmas. You are asked to bring a wrapped ―white
elephant‖ to pass. A basket will be available to
collect shampoo and conditioner for women sheltered
at the Hebron House. All women in the parish are
cordially invited to attend. Register for this special
evening by calling the Parish Office at 966-2191.
December Altar Flower Memorials
The December Altar Flower Memorials will be for the poinsettias
that fill the churches at Christmas. If you are interested in helping
to fill our worship spaces in memory of someone or a family,
envelopes are located at the entrances of both churches.
Altar Flower donations are $20.

At Christmas Eve Mass
All students preschool age 3
through 5th grade are invited to
sing at this years
Christmas Eve Mass with Children
at the Monches Church.
Christmas Carols will be sung from 4:15 until
4:30 p.m. Mass will begin at 4:30 p.m. when
students will be called forward to sing
“No Room at the Inn.” They will also sing
again during a reflection after Communion.
Songs will be taught during the Christian
Formation classes for grade school on:
December 7 & 9 and December 14 & 16 from
4:30-4:45pm (in Clare Hall of the Parish Center)
and during preschool/kindergarten classes
on Sunday, December 13 & 20. If you are not
registered in our program, you may still
practice with the appropriate classes.

How to Contact Our Troops for Christmas and Messages
On Oct. 30, 2002, the Department of Defense (DoD) suspended the
"Operation Dear Abby" and "Any Servicemember" mail programs due to
force protection concerns. Although these programs provide an excellent
means of support to friends and loved ones stationed overseas, they also
provide an avenue to introduce hazardous substances or materials into the
mail system from unknown sources. Unsolicited mail, packages and
donations from organizations and individuals also compete for limited
airlift space used to transport supplies, war-fighting material and mail
from family and loved ones.
Recently, DoD has become aware of organizations and individuals who
continue to support some form of the "Any Servicemember" program by
using the names and addresses of individual service members and unit
addresses. These programs are usually supported by well-intentioned,
thoughtful and patriotic groups who are simply unaware of the new risks
facing deployed military forces. Some individuals and groups publicize
the names and addresses of service members, ships or units on Web sites,
with good intentions. The result, however, is a potential danger to the
troops they wish to support.
DoD cannot support creative and well-intentioned efforts that defeat
force protection measures, but can instead recommend alternatives to mail
and donation programs. To show support to troops overseas, the following
are recommended:
