Kathryn Bolt is a District President for Robert Half International (RHI) and is responsible for the daily operations of<br />

more than 30 company offices located across Canada, Upstate New York and Michigan.<br />

Kathryn began her career with RHI <strong>in</strong> September 1994 and has s<strong>in</strong>ce expanded the firm’s operations ten-fold.<br />

Under Kathryn's direction, RHI has achieved great success <strong>in</strong> establish<strong>in</strong>g itself as a lead<strong>in</strong>g provider of highly<br />

skilled professionals. She is thoroughly familiar with the specialized skills that are currently <strong>in</strong> demand and is an<br />

Dan Coholan is Head of RBC Capital Markets’ Communications, Media and Technology Investment Bank<strong>in</strong>g<br />

practice <strong>in</strong> Canada. Mr. Coholan is responsible for manag<strong>in</strong>g many of the firm’s relationships with established<br />

<strong>in</strong>dustry lead<strong>in</strong>g and emerg<strong>in</strong>g high growth companies <strong>in</strong> the communications, media and technology sectors.<br />

Mr. Coholan jo<strong>in</strong>ed RBC Capital Markets <strong>in</strong> 1987, and until 1993 was a member of the firm’s Mergers and<br />

Acquisitions department work<strong>in</strong>g on many of the firm’s merger, acquisition, divestiture and valuation assignments<br />

<strong>in</strong> the communications and technology sectors. Dur<strong>in</strong>g this time, Mr. Coholan spent a term <strong>in</strong> Tokyo where he<br />

Mr. Coholan is on the Board of Directors of American Learn<strong>in</strong>g Solutions and previously was Chair of the Ontario<br />

Shirley Dawe has more than three decades of bus<strong>in</strong>ess experience as a senior executive, consultant and<br />

corporate director to lead<strong>in</strong>g retailers and marketers of branded consumer goods. Shirley rose to the position of<br />

National General Manager of The Hudson’s Bay Company, responsible for the market<strong>in</strong>g, merchandis<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

procurement for the six Soft Goods divisions across Canada.<br />

In 1986 she went on to build a retail management consult<strong>in</strong>g practice, Shirley Dawe Associates Inc., and s<strong>in</strong>ce<br />

John Macdonald<br />

John Macdonald recently jo<strong>in</strong>ed The Consumers’ Water Heater Income Fund as President & CEO.<br />

Mr. Macdonald is the former President and CEO of Hydro One Telecom where he grew the company from a<br />

concept to the largest utility-based telecom company <strong>in</strong> Canada. Prior to Hydro, John was President of ShareTel<br />

and held Senior Market<strong>in</strong>g positions at AT&T Canada and Nortel.<br />

John is a Registered Professional Eng<strong>in</strong>eer with a B.A.Sc. <strong>in</strong> Electrical Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from the University of<br />

Toronto.<br />

The Consumers’ Water Heater Income Fund (TSX:CWI.UN) is engaged <strong>in</strong> the water heater rental bus<strong>in</strong>ess with<br />

over 1.3 million natural gas-fired water heaters, rented primarily to residential customers <strong>in</strong> Ontario. The Fund has<br />

about 50% of Ontario’s residential market with most of its bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> the Greater Toronto Area. The Fund’s<br />

objective is to generate a stable and grow<strong>in</strong>g cash flow stream, which will <strong>in</strong> turn be reflected <strong>in</strong> stable and<br />

Over 25 years <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>surance brokerage bus<strong>in</strong>ess, John has been an active leader <strong>in</strong> driv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>novation and<br />

eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g change <strong>in</strong> the Insurance sector. This <strong>in</strong>volvement has encompassed domestic and <strong>in</strong>ternational client<br />

service, as well as global strategy and product development <strong>in</strong> both the Commercial and Employee Benefit<br />

<strong>in</strong>surance segments.<br />

Bruce Simpson<br />

Bruce Simpson became Manag<strong>in</strong>g Partner of the Canadian practice <strong>in</strong> July 2000. Previously, he worked <strong>in</strong> the<br />

Paris office for 13 years, assist<strong>in</strong>g clients <strong>in</strong> multiple sectors on change management, and operations issues.<br />

Before that, he spent a year <strong>in</strong> the New York office on various engagements for consumer goods clients. He is a<br />

core member of McK<strong>in</strong>sey’s worldwide Operations practice. He has particular expertise <strong>in</strong> change management<br />

and cont<strong>in</strong>uous improvement – what it takes to build ongo<strong>in</strong>g cont<strong>in</strong>uous improvement <strong>in</strong>to the organizations of<br />

clients. Bruce has co-led McK<strong>in</strong>sey’s extensive research on these issues for 10 years and helped multiple teams<br />

across the world on these topics. He was also a co-leader of the European Manufactur<strong>in</strong>g practice.<br />

Bruce, a Scot, was born and grew up <strong>in</strong> Glasgow, where he attended Jordanhill College School. His father was<br />

Professor of Pathology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and his mother, an author, is a D.L. for the city. Bruce<br />

completed an International Baccalaureate at the International School of Geneva and then read Law at Cambridge


University, graduat<strong>in</strong>g with both a BA and an MA degree. He then worked as coach of the English Alp<strong>in</strong>e Ski<br />

Team for 2 years before go<strong>in</strong>g to Wharton Bus<strong>in</strong>ess School. Bruce graduated <strong>in</strong> 1986 with both an MBA<br />

specializ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ance and an MA <strong>in</strong> International Studies from the Lauder Institute. He was a Thouron Fellow at<br />

Wharton. Bruce worked <strong>in</strong> product management at Procter and Gamble <strong>in</strong> Geneva Switzerland prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

Nigel Stokes<br />

Nigel Stokes guides DataMirror's strategic vision and direction. Under Nigel's leadership, DataMirror was named<br />

to the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500, and he won Emerg<strong>in</strong>g Entrepreneur of the year from Ernst & Young. Nigel has<br />

25 years of IT experience with a variety of companies and <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />

Nigel co-founded DataMirror <strong>in</strong> 1993 to produce Intelligent Data Replication software for enterprise applications.<br />

He is an early <strong>in</strong>novator <strong>in</strong> Data-Warehous<strong>in</strong>g, ETL and Data Replication. He has designed and architected ETL,<br />

Data Replication and Data Warehous<strong>in</strong>g products for <strong>in</strong>dustry, s<strong>in</strong>ce 1990. As a thought leader <strong>in</strong> the software<br />

market, he def<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong>novative concepts around Active Data Warehous<strong>in</strong>g, Data Transformation and Intelligent<br />

Data Replication. Under his direction, DataMirror went public <strong>in</strong> 1996 (TSX: DMC), completed strategic<br />

Nigel was formerly Co-Founder and President of Nidak, Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of SHL Systemhouse, and a Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal<br />

at Woods Gordon (now Ernst & Young). Nidak, which was purchased by SHL Systemhouse, specialized <strong>in</strong> the<br />

development of custom bus<strong>in</strong>ess applications, relational databases and data warehouses for corporate clients.<br />

Nidak ranked as the eleventh fastest grow<strong>in</strong>g company <strong>in</strong> Canada and won two Canada Awards for Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

Excellence.<br />

As an Executive and Consultant, he has delivered sophisticated software projects for f<strong>in</strong>ancial <strong>in</strong>stitutions,<br />

manufactur<strong>in</strong>g, retail, healthcare and other <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />

Nigel holds an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.A.Sc., System Design Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from Waterloo<br />

Mark Usher<br />

Mark Usher is a Partner <strong>in</strong> Well<strong>in</strong>gton F<strong>in</strong>ancial LP, a Toronto based, privately-held, bridge f<strong>in</strong>ance & venture debt<br />

fund.<br />

Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Well<strong>in</strong>gton F<strong>in</strong>ancial <strong>in</strong> mid-2006 Mr. Usher ga<strong>in</strong>ed 16 years of f<strong>in</strong>ance experience, primarily as<br />

Royal Bank’s Vice-President responsible for Knowledge Based Industries practice for Ontario.<br />

Mark's career began <strong>in</strong> 1988 at Royal Bank. He jo<strong>in</strong>ed RBC's Commercial Bank<strong>in</strong>g Group <strong>in</strong> 1993, where his<br />

roles <strong>in</strong>cluded market<strong>in</strong>g and strategy <strong>in</strong> the Bank’s head office, and as a Senior Account Manager. Mark was<br />

recruited by Cisco Systems <strong>in</strong> 2000 to jo<strong>in</strong> the Cisco Capital structured f<strong>in</strong>ance team <strong>in</strong> Toronto, where he<br />

f<strong>in</strong>anced the sales of Cisco equipment and services to customers <strong>in</strong> Canada and the US Eastern Seaboard us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

a comb<strong>in</strong>ation of debt and equity structures. Mark returned to Royal Bank <strong>in</strong> 2001 to lead the bank’s Information<br />

Technology Bank<strong>in</strong>g team <strong>in</strong> the Greater Toronto Area.<br />

Mark holds an MBA from Queen’s University School of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess, and is a Director of York Technology<br />

Association and the Toronto Venture Group.


Mark Wiseman<br />

Senior Vice President - Private Investments<br />

CPP Investment Board<br />

Mark Wiseman directs the team manag<strong>in</strong>g the private <strong>in</strong>vestment activities of the CPP Investment Board. The<br />

CPP Investment Board <strong>in</strong>vests the $100 billion CPP reserve fund to help secure future pensions of 16 million<br />

Canadians. Today, the Private Investments Division of the CPP Investment Board has over $15 billion <strong>in</strong><br />

commitments to private equity and <strong>in</strong>frastructure <strong>in</strong>vestments.<br />

Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the CPP Investment Board <strong>in</strong> June 2005, Mr. Wiseman was responsible for the private equity fund<br />

and co-<strong>in</strong>vestment program at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Previously, Mr. Wiseman was an officer with<br />

Harrowston Inc., a publicly traded Canadian merchant bank and a lawyer with Sullivan and Cromwell, practic<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />

New York and Paris. He also served as a law clerk to Madam Justice Beverley McLachl<strong>in</strong> at the Supreme Court<br />

of Canada.<br />

In addition to his activities at the CPP Investment Board, Mr. Wiseman is Chairman of the Institutional Limited<br />

Partners Association, a non-profit organization committed to serv<strong>in</strong>g limited partner <strong>in</strong>vestors <strong>in</strong> the global private<br />

equity <strong>in</strong>dustry. The ILPA’s 170 members comprise the lead<strong>in</strong>g corporate and public pension plans, endowments<br />

and foundations, <strong>in</strong>surance companies and other <strong>in</strong>stitutional <strong>in</strong>vestors <strong>in</strong> private equity.<br />

Mr. Wiseman is also the Chairman of Youth Without Shelter, an emergency shelter for homeless youth <strong>in</strong> Toronto<br />

and a member of the Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Development Committee of Mount S<strong>in</strong>ai Hospital <strong>in</strong> Toronto.<br />

Mr. Wiseman holds a BA from Queen’s University and a law degree and MBA from the University of Toronto. He<br />

was also a Fulbright Scholar at Yale University where he obta<strong>in</strong>ed a masters degree <strong>in</strong> law.
