76. Charges for extra <strong>and</strong> special attendance<br />

(1) Where the attendance of an officer is required-<br />

(a) on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday;<br />

(b) at any time not covered by the hours mentioned in regulation 75; or<br />

(c) for any special purpose determined by the Director,<br />

the person requiring such attendance shall apply to the proper officer on form CE.73 at least<br />

12 hours before such attendance is required, or such shorter period as the officer in any<br />

special circumstances may allow, <strong>and</strong> he shall guarantee the payment of the charges<br />

imposed by these Regulations <strong>and</strong> shall pay the said charges immediately on dem<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(2) The proper officer may, in his discretion, prior to allowing such attendance, dem<strong>and</strong><br />

payment of an amount sufficient to cover the charges that will be incurred.<br />

(3) Any person requiring any extra or special attendance shall, if so required by the<br />

proper officer, provide the necessary transport for the officer rendering such attendance or<br />

such person may be required to pay to the Director such travelling <strong>and</strong> other expenses<br />

incurred by such officer in connection with such attendance as the Director considers<br />

reasonable.<br />

(4) For extra attendance in connection with the examination of post office parcels, the<br />

sealing of aircraft stores <strong>and</strong> the rummaging of aircraft, no attendance charge will be made.<br />

(5) Such attendance charge is also not to be made in respect of extra attendance in<br />

connection with the reporting of the arrival or departure of aircraft at places specified by the<br />

Director.<br />

(6) No charge in connection with the supervision of the receipt of wine or the fortification<br />

of wine with spirits entered under rebate of duty shall be payable by the manufacturer of<br />

such wine or the supplier of such spirits <strong>and</strong> such manufacturer or supplier shall not be liable<br />

for any transport or other expenses.<br />

(7) Where the special attendance of an officer is required for the purpose of making a<br />

copy of a document or making <strong>and</strong> certifying a copy of a document or certifying only a copy<br />

of a document, the fee for such attendance shall be P1 per copy.<br />

(8) The charges for extra or special attendance, except when such attendance is given in<br />

respect of any service mentioned in subregulation (7), shall be P10 per officer per hour or<br />

part thereof:<br />

Provided that where such extra or special attendance is at an airport at which no resident<br />

customs officer is stationed, <strong>and</strong> where less than 12 hours notice of the arrival or departure<br />

of the aircraft concerned is given, there shall be an additional charge of P20 unless the<br />

proper officer, in special circumstances, decides otherwise.<br />

77. Business in customs houses<br />

(1) The representative of any importer, exporter, manufacturer or other principal who<br />
