(d) above who have been designated Teaching Fellows shall be<br />

for three years upon their first designation as Teaching Fellows<br />

which may include such shorter probationary period as the<br />

Governing Body may determine and may thereafter be extended<br />

for a further period or periods not exceeding five years at a<br />

time.<br />

Section III: Research Fellows<br />

12. Research Fellowships shall be held subject to conditions <strong>of</strong><br />

advanced study or research to be approved by the Governing<br />

Body and subject to such conditions <strong>of</strong> residence as the<br />

Governing Body may prescribe.<br />

13. A Research Fellowship shall be tenable for three years.<br />

14. Provided, however, that the tenure <strong>of</strong> any Research Fellowship<br />

the emoluments <strong>of</strong> which are provided from the income <strong>of</strong> a<br />

special Trust Fund accepted under the provisions <strong>of</strong> Statute<br />

XLVI (Of Endowments) shall be regulated by the relevant terms,<br />

if any, <strong>of</strong> the Instrument creating the Fund.<br />

15. A Research Fellow shall vacate his or her Fellowship by<br />

appointment to a <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice qualifying for an Official<br />

Fellowship or by election to an Official Fellowship or by election<br />

to a Fellowship other than an Honorary Fellowship in any other<br />

<strong>College</strong> in <strong>Cambridge</strong> or Oxford.<br />
