STATUTE XXXIV<br />
Of <strong>College</strong> Offices<br />
1. Without prejudice to the provisions <strong>of</strong> Statute XX (Of Academic<br />
Staff), for the purposes <strong>of</strong> the present <strong>Statutes</strong>, ‘<strong>College</strong> Officer’<br />
shall include those holding the <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> Master, Vice-Master,<br />
President, Chaplain, Teaching Fellow, Director <strong>of</strong> Studies, Tutor,<br />
Bursar, Fellow Librarian, Dean, Fellows’ Steward, Praelector,<br />
Fellow Archivist, and Secretary <strong>of</strong> the Governing Body, and the<br />
holders <strong>of</strong> such additional <strong>of</strong>fices as the Governing Body may<br />
from time to time create and determine, provided that the<br />
Governing Body shall have power to abolish such additional<br />
<strong>of</strong>fices.<br />
2. Unless otherwise provided by <strong>Statutes</strong>, appointments to Offices<br />
shall be for such periods as may be specified in Ordinances. The<br />
appointments may include a period <strong>of</strong> probation.<br />
3. Unless otherwise provided by <strong>Statutes</strong>, in the event <strong>of</strong> the<br />
temporary absence <strong>of</strong> a <strong>College</strong> Officer from the <strong>College</strong> the<br />
Governing Body may appoint one <strong>of</strong> its number to act in the<br />
place <strong>of</strong> the Officer in question.<br />
