Hybrid Descriptions P7631 » Intermediate Maturity » Maturity Class 5 » Primary End Use: Forage P7631 is an intermediate maturity hybrid for growing in the open on favourable locations in the south of England in the open and for growing under film on most locations across the UK & Ireland. PR39G12 is a popular choice of growers who wish to exploit their warm favourable maize fields by maturing a high yielding crop of high starch content silage. Hybrid Characteristics • Single cross • Tall, large stature hybrid Grown In The Open • Adapted to light to medium soils in southern areas of England and also warmer sites in the Midlands and East Anglia Grown Using The Samco System • PR39G12 is not normally grown under film Hybrid Specific Agronomic Advice Grown In The Open Forage Seed Rate* Early Vigour Lodging Stay-green Film Penetration Ability 40,000 Seeds/Acre Good Average Very Good Not Applicable * Assumes estimated plant establishment losses at sowing of < 5% PR39T83 » Late Maturity » Maturity Class 4 » Primary End Use: Forage PR39T83 is only suitable for planting under the Samco System in the UK and Ireland. In both trials and commercial use it has produced very high forage dry matter yields of good starch content. It has a tendency to double cob when grown under film and this is partly responsible for its high silage dry matter and starch yields when grown using the Samco System. PR39T83 has shown good resistance to eyespot (Aureobasidium zeae).
