STARTING / STOPPING THE ENGINE & PREPARING TO DRIVE<br />
Starting the Engine<br />
Before starting<br />
1. Apply parking brake.<br />
2. Ensure gear lever in neutral.<br />
A. Insert the key in steering cum<br />
ignition lock and turn it to ‘ON’<br />
position.<br />
B. Press the clutch pedal fully.<br />
C. Now crank the engine.<br />
D. If the engine does not start turn<br />
the key to off position and try<br />
after 2 mins.<br />
NOTICE<br />
After starting run the engine in<br />
idle speed for at least 30<br />
seconds.<br />
CAUTION<br />
Running Engine under idle<br />
condition for long duration and<br />
also in high idle (fly-up rpm)<br />
should be avoided<br />
Running-in Period<br />
Avoid rapid acceleration and<br />
prolonged high speed running of the<br />
engine while using the new car for<br />
the first 1000 km of operation.<br />
Do not exceed the following road<br />
speeds during running in period.<br />
Gear Km/ph<br />
1st 15<br />
2nd 25<br />
3rd 40<br />
4th 60<br />
DRIVING<br />
Stopping the Engine<br />
Before switching off the engine, run<br />
the engine in idle condition for at least<br />
30 seconds and then switch ‘OFF’.<br />
Turn the ignition key to ‘ACC’<br />
position to stop the engine.<br />
Preparing for Drive :<br />
� Release the parking brake.<br />
� Check that an items that you may<br />
be carrying inside, are fully<br />
secured.<br />
� Check & adjust seat<br />
� Ensure that all doors are locked<br />
properly<br />
� Fasten seat belt properly<br />
� Ensure that all gauges and<br />
indicators lights are working.<br />
� Check for blind areas being<br />
unobstructed in front and rear of<br />
the car.<br />
� Before driving off check in the<br />
rear view mirror, for oncoming<br />
traffic. Switch on side indicator<br />
signal when getting into main<br />
stream of traffic.<br />
NOTICE<br />
The engine being at the rear of the<br />
car, its sound characteristics are<br />
unique compared to the other<br />
vehicles.<br />
