Providing youth the tools for success<br />

Offering more than 72 hours a week <strong>of</strong> programmed activities year round, the<br />

BGCOP delivers a wide variety <strong>of</strong> programs for youth ages 6 to 18 th<strong>at</strong> foster<br />

learning in a supervised, enjoyable environment. Activities <strong>and</strong> programs are<br />

designed to empower all youth by building confidence <strong>and</strong> leadership skills,<br />

while exposing them to the numerous opportunities available to them. These<br />

programs enhance the youths’ school educ<strong>at</strong>ion, providing them with the life<br />

skills they need to be successful adults.<br />

BGCOP programs for members focus on the following five areas <strong>of</strong> child<br />

development:<br />

Educ<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>and</strong> Career Development<br />

Homework help, st<strong>at</strong>e-<strong>of</strong>-the-art technology, one-on-one<br />

tutoring, educ<strong>at</strong>ional competitions, job training, college<br />

visits <strong>and</strong> career explor<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

Sports, Fitness <strong>and</strong> Recre<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

Individual <strong>and</strong> group particip<strong>at</strong>ion in games <strong>and</strong> sports,<br />

league sports, regional competitions, tournaments,<br />

organized <strong>and</strong> wacky games, special events, field trips<br />

<strong>and</strong> movies<br />

The Arts<br />

Arts <strong>and</strong> crafts, photography, drama <strong>and</strong> the<strong>at</strong>rical<br />

production, performing arts, music <strong>and</strong> cultural field trips<br />
