Experience<br />

The THQ<strong>IT</strong> grantees have published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles <strong>and</strong><br />

conducted more than 300 presentations related to their THQ<strong>IT</strong> projects. Moreover,<br />

the experiences of THQ<strong>IT</strong> grantees have <strong>in</strong>formed these other useful documents<br />

produced for AHRQ:<br />

● ● Us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Health</strong> <strong>IT</strong>: Eight Quality Improvement Stories. This document provides<br />

eight case summaries of THQ<strong>IT</strong> grant projects demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g promis<strong>in</strong>g<br />

practices <strong>and</strong>/or achiev<strong>in</strong>g measurable results <strong>and</strong> po<strong>in</strong>ts to the challenges<br />

that must be addressed to realize health <strong>IT</strong> potential more broadly (Au et al.,<br />

2010). The case stories <strong>in</strong>clude projects focus<strong>in</strong>g on EHRs, CDS, CPOE, HIE,<br />

telehealth, a Web-based quality report<strong>in</strong>g system with feedback, <strong>and</strong> an electronic<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>uity of care record used to help overcome barriers <strong>in</strong> access<strong>in</strong>g care (http://<br />

● ● “Partners Use EHRs to Steer Quality Improvement.” This case story describes<br />

how an EHR with evidence-based decision support technology <strong>and</strong> an<br />

electronic data warehouse for track<strong>in</strong>g quality of care was implemented by<br />
