I am very happy that we willwelcome this year 40 choirs from 15 countries.This is quite a number we take pride inand we are glad that our event at one ofVietnam’s most attractive destinations hasdeveloped in such an outstanding way. Weare looking forward to numerous choirsfrom Indonesia and the Philippines. Butalso, to name but a few examples, ensemblesfrom Australia, Finland, Germany, SriLanka and India will be representing theircountries. My sincere thanks therefore goesto all local and international organizationsthat have contributed to the success of thisunique festival.We will be pleased to experience someinteresting and top-class competitions.But the highlights that make our event acolourful and distinctive festival are likewiseimportant. It all starts with a grandopening ceremony and continues withthe choir parade through the city of HộiAn, numerous Friendship Concerts in theflower-bedecked streets and the impressiveAwards Ceremony until the LegendaryNight of Hội An and the final Farewell Party.Being the major organizer of internationalchoir competitions, INTERKULTUR is currentlypreparing numerous new festivals for theupcoming years, amongst them interestingnew events e.g. in the USA, Greece and Italy.And of course you will also have the possibilityto choose one of our fantastic eventsfor instance in Spain, Austria or Germany foryour next competition performance. We arealso looking forward to the world’s biggestchoral event, the 9 th World Choir Games inJuly 2016, which will take place in the beautifulcity of Sochi (Russia) at the Black Sea.But first of all I would like to wish all participantsa lot of success and great experienceswhen celebrating and performing inthe streets, at squares and on stages in thebeautiful Hội An City in Vietnam.Günter Titsch
