Erdei Péter tại Budapestvà Kecskemét (Học viện Kodály), Hungary.Hiện tại ông là nhạc trưởng và là giám đốc nghệthuật của 14 đoàn hợp xướng, các đoàn nàythường được mời sang biểu diễn tại Nhật, ChâuÂu, Hoa Kỳ, Canada và Châu Á và nhận đượcnhiều lời khen trong các chuyến lưu diễn, cũngnhư đạt được nhiều giải thưởng trong các cuộcthi quốc tế. Là một nhà soạn nhạc và nhà cảibiên viết nên nhiều tác phẩm, tác phẩm của Matsushitađược biểu diễn trên toàn thế giới. Tácphẩm của ông rất phong phú, từ các tác phẩmdựa trên âm nhạc truyền thống Nhật Bản, nhạcphổ biến, Thánh ca, đến các khúc luyện dànhcho hợp xướng. Bên cạnh chỉ huy dàn nhạc vàsáng tác, Matsushita còn là một giảng viên năngnổ kể cả trong và ngoài Nhật Bản. Năm 2005,ông trở thành người châu Á đầu tiên nhận được“Giải thưởng Robert Edler dành cho âm nhạchợp xướng” - ghi nhận những thành tựu xuấtsắc của ông trên toàn thế giới trong việc chỉ huydàn nhạc, sáng tác, biểu diễn, và cả giáo dụctrong lĩnh vực âm nhạc hợp xướng. Ông hiện làgiám đốc nghệ thuật của Liên hoan Hợp xướngquốc tế Tokyo Choral Alliance KOYUKAI & Karuizawa,vừa là thành viên sáng lập của Hiệp hộihợp xướng Tokyo, thành viên của Hiệp hội chỉhuy hợp xướng Nhật Bản, Hội Kodaly quốc tế,và đại diện của Hội thảo hợp xướng. Ngoài ra,ông là một thành viên của Hiệp hội các nhà soạnnhạc và cải biên Nhật Bản.Ko Matsushita graduated at the top of his classfrom the Kunitachi College of Music, Departmentof Composition, and went on to study chorus conductingunder the late prof. Reményi János, andprof. Erdei Péter in Budapest and Kecskemét (Kodályinstitute), Hungary.He is currently the conductor and artistic directorof 14 choirs, which are often invited to perform inJapan, Europe, America, Canada, and Asia. Theyhave also achieved excellent showings in the choralcircuit and won awards in international competitions.A prolific composer and arranger, Matsushita’sworks are performed around the world. His compositionsvary widely, ranging from works basedon traditional Japanese music, Masses, motets, toetudes for choirs.Besides conducting and composing, Matsushita isalso an active workshop clinician and lecturer bothwithin and outside Japan.In 2005, he became the first Asian to receive the“Robert Edler Prize for Choral Music” in recognitionof his outstanding achievements worldwide inconducting, composing, performance, and educationwithin the field of choral music.He is currently the Artistic director of the TokyoChoral Alliance KOYUKAI and Karuizawa InternationalChoral Festival, a board member of the TokyoChoral Association, as well as a member of theJapan Choral Directors Association, the InternationalKodaly Society, and a representative of theWorkshop of the Choral Expression. Furthermorehe is a member of Japan Composers & ArrangersAssociation.
