STRAIGHT A, 4.0 LUNCHES
At the conclusion of each academic quarter,
school leadership honors those students who
have excelled academically on their quarter report
cards. Those with 4.0 GPAs or better are treated
to a catered lunch in the Raider Room, while
those students earning straight A’s on their report
cards have an off campus lunch. During the
recent school year, they dined at Henry Shane’s
Cars of Yesteryear Museum, the Chifici Family’s
Deanie’s Seafood, and the Impastato Family’s
Impastato’s Restaurant.
As it is each year, the current school year has
been a busy one for members of Operation
HeadStart. The student and alumni volunteers
kept a busy schedule of events both in New
Orleans and across the country. They work with
at-risk kids, the elderly, and other individuals
and groups with special needs. As HeadStart
broadens its reach, members hosted a group
16 :: Archbishop Rummel High School Alumni Association
of students from St. Mary’s College School in
Berkley, CA, as the guests did service work
with the St. Bernard Project. Finally, present
and former members of Operation HeadStart
celebrated the completion of its 20th year with
a party in the Raider Room. Mr. Mark Firmin
is the current and founding moderator of
Operation HeadStart.
