Rent is inclusive <strong>of</strong> utilities with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> electricity.<br />

In accordance with <strong>Cook</strong> <strong>County</strong> Code Section 2-108(h)(1), Commissioner Silvestri, seconded by<br />

Commissioner Daley, moved to suspend <strong>the</strong> rules so that this matter may be considered. The motion<br />

carried unanimously.<br />

Commissioner Beavers, seconded by Commissioner Steele, moved to reconsider <strong>the</strong> question, a first<br />

amendment to lease for <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> Commissioner Anthony J. Peraica’s 16th District field <strong>of</strong>fice, which<br />

was previously approved on April 18, 2007. Commissioner Peraica called for a Roll Call, <strong>the</strong> vote <strong>of</strong><br />

yeas and nays being as follows:<br />

FIRST AMENDMENT TO LEASE<br />

Yeas: Beavers, Butler, Daley, Gorman, Goslin, Moreno, Murphy, Schneider, Sims, Steele - 10.<br />

Nays: Claypool, Peraica, Quigley, Suffredin - 4.<br />

Present: Silvestri - 1.<br />

Absent: Collins, Maldonado - 2.<br />

The motion to reconsider CARRIED.<br />

Commissioner Beavers, seconded by Commissioner Steele, moved that <strong>the</strong> first amendment to lease be<br />

referred to <strong>the</strong> Real Estate and Business and Economic Development Subcommittee.<br />

Following discussion, Commissioner Peraica, seconded by Commissioner Silvestri, moved to amend <strong>the</strong><br />

motion and refer <strong>the</strong> first amendment to lease to <strong>the</strong> Committee on Finance. (Comm. No. 286486). The<br />

motion to refer carried unanimously.<br />

PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT<br />

BE IT ORDAINED, by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cook</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commissioners</strong> that Chapter 30, Article I, Section 30-<br />

3 and Article II, Division 7, Subdivision III, Sections 30-231 and 30-233 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Cook</strong> <strong>County</strong> Code are<br />

hereby amended as follows:<br />

Sec. 30-3. Definitions.<br />

ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL<br />

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter shall have <strong>the</strong> meanings ascribed<br />

to <strong>the</strong>m in this section, except where <strong>the</strong> context clearly indicates a different meaning:<br />

Agricultural wastes means any refuse, except garbage and dead animals, generated on a farm or<br />

ranch by crop and livestock production practices, including such items as bags, cartons, dry bedding,<br />

structural materials, and crop residues but excluding landscape wastes.
