2.18.010 COUNCIL MEMBERS - FOUR YEAR TERM. At the April, 1976, regular<br />

election, six council members shall be elected. The three candidates for council receiving the<br />

highest number <strong>of</strong> votes shall be elected for four year terms and the three candidates for council<br />

receiving the next highest number <strong>of</strong> votes shall be elected for two year terms. At the next<br />

subsequent regular election and each regular election thereafter, three council members shall be<br />

elected to serve four year terms. (Ord. 331, S1, 1975)<br />

2.18.030 VACANCY FILLING. The <strong>City</strong> Council shall have power by appointment to fill all<br />

vacancies in the council or any other elected <strong>of</strong>fice, and the person so appointed shall hold <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

until the next regular election, and until his successor is elected and qualified. If the term <strong>of</strong> the<br />

person creating the vacancy was to extend beyond the next regular election, the person elected to<br />

fill the vacancy shall be elected for the unexpired term. Where a vacancy or vacancies exist in<br />

the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> a council member, and its successor or successors are to be elected at the next<br />

election to fill the unexpired term or terms, the three candidates for council member receiving the<br />

highest number <strong>of</strong> votes shall be elected to four year terms and the candidate or candidates<br />

receiving the next highest number <strong>of</strong> votes, in descending order, shall be elected to fill unexpired<br />

term or terms. (Ord. 331, S3, 1975)<br />

2.18.040 COMPENSATION. Each member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Council shall be compensated for<br />

expenses incurred in serving his/her <strong>of</strong>fice in the amount <strong>of</strong> three hundred dollars ($300) per<br />

month. The mayor pro tem shall receive an additional fifty dollars ($50) per month. The mayor<br />

shall be compensated in the amount <strong>of</strong> four hundred seventy five dollars ($475) per month. (Ord.<br />
