KINGBOROUGH WASTE SERVICES
Kingborough Waste Services (KWS) is a
business wholly-owned by Kingborough
Council.
KWS operates the Barretta Waste Transfer
Facility at 1922 Channel Highway, Barretta,
which includes a Re-Use Shop, recycling and
green waste areas, and general refuse drop-off
points.
KWS also operates the Bruny Island Waste
Transfer Station.
Opening Hours - Barretta

Monday – Friday: 7.30am to 4pm
Saturday, Sundays and Public Holidays:
9am to 4pm
Re-Use Shop: 9am to 4pm daily
The site is closed on Good Friday and
Christmas Day.
Opening Hours - Bruny Island
Monday: 8.30am to 4pm
Friday: 8.30am to 4pm
Saturday: 9am to 4pm
Sunday: 9am to 4pm
If a public holiday falls on a scheduled
operating day, the site is open 9am to 4pm
(excludes Good Friday and Christmas Day).
Re-Use Shop - Barretta
The shop accepts and sells most items that can
be re-used in any way. The list of options is
extensive, but includes kitchen items, furniture,
working electrical items (they will be checked),
clothing, rugs, sporting item, gardening
tools, timber, dog kennels, corrugated iron,
barbeques and much more. Perishable or
broken items are not accepted.
Residents can drop off goods for the shop at
the recycling area.
