7. Type over the target name to change any of the resolved names.<br />

8. If you want to control how the new feature classes and tables are created and<br />

stored, click a keyword and choose a new one from the dropdown list.<br />

9. Click OK to copy the data into new feature classes and tables.<br />

EXPORTING FROM A PERSONAL GEODATABASE FEATURE<br />

DATASET OR FEATURE CLASS TO A SHAPEFILE OR COVERAGE<br />

1. Open ArcCatalog. (This step is not required if the data is converted to an<br />

ArcSDE Feature class.)<br />

2. In the Catalog tree or contents view, browse to the location where the personal<br />

geodatabase (*.mdb) is stored. If the file is located on a UNIX machine,<br />

you should have access to that file from Windows and have sufficient permissions<br />

for reading the data.<br />

3. Right-click the personal geodatabase to be exported. Click Export and To<br />

Shapefile (Multiple) or To Coverage depending on your preference.<br />

This will export all feature classes contained in the personal geodatabase. To<br />

export tables, select the tables to be exported and click the option To dBase<br />

(multiple).<br />
