to fire a Mk-48 Mod 7 torpedo. Her target was a retired USN Spruance class destroyer which was sunk with one shot. (RAN)<br />

<strong>The</strong> new US Coast Guard Cutter BERTHOLF. BERTHOLF has a range <strong>of</strong> 12,000nm at 9kts and has a top speed <strong>of</strong> 28+ kts. She has an automated weapon<br />

system consisting <strong>of</strong> a 57mm rapid fire gun and a Mk-15 Phalanx Block 1B CIWS. Her search radar, passive surveillance, datalink and communications fit out<br />

are state-<strong>of</strong>-the-art. She can also carry two helicopters and a number <strong>of</strong> rigid hull inflatable boats which can be launched and recovered from stern doors while<br />

the ship is in motion. She has a full detection and defence capability against chemical, biological or radiological attack. (USCG)
