Welcome! High above the entrance
gate to the abbey, two angels hold
out their hearts: Open to our
visitors, this is what our community of monks
likes to symbolise. Whoever comes along the
way shall be welcome, like Jesus Christ once
said: “I was a stranger, but you welcomed me.”
Between May 1 and October 31, our
visitors are welcome to join us for a couple
of hours or even for several days. Wonderful,
natural gardens literally invite you to take
a breath and relax. Our “abbey underneath
the abbey” offers archaeological insights into
the history of our convent over the course
of many centuries. Altogether, our Baroque
ensemble counts among the most renowned
Baroque buildings in Austria.
The praying times of our monks are public
and each and every visitor is welcome to join.
Relax. You don’t need to have a birth certificate.
You don’t need to show your passport.
You don’t need to be a man. You don’t need to
follow our prayers. Even so, you can become a
part of us here.
