Technology. 

To us, merely thinking responsibly is not 

enough – we act accordingly and see environmental 

sustainability as an integral 

component of everyday life. The Multivan 

with BlueMotion Technology leads the way 

by setting a good example. Compared to a 

similar Multivan model without BlueMotion 

Technology, they can save up to 0.5 litres 

of fuel per 100 kilometres, which keeps the 

emission of harmful substances at a minimum 

and reduces damage to the environment. 

This is thanks to a mix of innovative 

technologies such as regenerative braking, 

the start/stop system and low rolling resistant 

tyres. The efficient 2.0 l TDI engines 

also make a significant contribution here: 

you have a choice of 62 kW1) for the Multivan 

Startline, 84 kW2) for the Multivan Startline 

and the Multivan Comfortline as well as 

a 103 kW3), 4) for all four versions. The latter 

is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox

Why worry about 

driving surfaces? 

The journey is its own reward, as they say. 

You can therefore look forward to mud, 

rain and dirt roads as the Multivan makes 

sure that nothing stands in the way of 

your thirst for adventure. 4MOTION permanent 

all-wheel drive supports you 

every inch of the way. Engine torque is distributed 

as required between the front 

and rear axle. The electronic differential 

lock ensures even traction – for example, 

during fast acceleration – by directing more 

power to the wheels with better road 

contact. This increases safety and driving 

enjoyment – on each and every journey.

If you have children, you know what they 

need – plenty of space. Children carry a lot 

around with them: toys in all shapes and 

sizes for a trip to the lake. Lots of dolls for 

the long, long drive to a friend’s house in 

a neighbouring village and enough hockey 

equipment to ensure a career in the national 

team. The Multivan Startline is ideal 

when parents chauffeur their children as 

it is flexible and robust enough to cope with 

all their activities – and caters for Mum 

and Dad, too. Comfortable, height-adjustable 

seats with armrests and lumbar support

The equipment in the 

Multivan Startline. 

Please take a seat: the Multivan Startline has five seats as standard 

with attractive, robust cloth upholstery. You can also order two 

single seats with integral child’s seats as an option for the passenger 

compartment. It features full trim and fresh colours which 

create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. The passenger compartment is 

practical as well. The 3-seater bench seat can be moved to make 

extra space in the luggage or passenger compartment. The table 

is stowed in the sliding door and can either be secured to a rail 

on the side panel or easily set up for use outside the vehicle.* Drivers 

have a choice of steering wheels: the standard wheel made of robust 

plastic and, as options, a leather-covered wheel or a leathercovered 

multifunction steering wheel. All have a classic 3-spoke 

design. You can see all vehicle data at a glance on the instrument 

cluster, and a “Climatic” semi-automatic air conditioner is available 

on request.

the Multivan BlueMotion. 

The Multivan BlueMotion is the most economical vehicle in its class – 

this is assured by a comprehensive package of various innovative 

technologies. An efficient 2.0 l TDI engine with 84 kW* and common 

rail technology is literally at the heart of this package. But many 

other components of this vehicle have been specially adapted – such 

as the tyres and the energy management. The fact that the progress 

in economy and ecology have not led to any compromises in terms of 

driving comfort and available space is just as significant. This is 

a truly special combination – and it is obvious just by looking at the 

Multivan BlueMotion: especially thanks to the “Glacier Blue Metallic” 

paint finish exclusively available for the Multivan BlueMotion 

(eleven paint finishes are available in total).

An exhibition in Hamburg? A concert 

in Vienna? A sunset in Rome? Where 

would you like to go first? Journeys in the 

Multivan Comfortline are just as much 

fun as arriving at your destination. There 

are seven seats, including two swivelling 

single seats and a movable 3-seater bench 

seat at the rear. When you arrive at your 

destination, you won’t even realise how long 

you have been travelling, as armrests, 

lumbar support and a steering wheel with 

height and reach adjustment are standard 

in all Multivan models. When you travel 

in such comfort, you might even manage to 

see the exhibition, concert and sunset in 

one day. 



Multivan Comfortline. 

The Multivan Comfortline is attractive both from the outside and 

inside. The inviting seats are upholstered in high-quality cloth 

or, as options, in a combination of fine leather/Alcantara, or in elegant 

“Nappa” leather. Instead of the standard folding table on 

the side panel, a multifunction table can be ordered on request in 

conjunction with a second sliding door available as an option. Also 

standard: ventilation and lighting strips in the passenger compartment 

headlining, hard-wearing carpeting, a clearly arranged instrument 

cluster, and the “Climatic” semi-automatic air conditioner.

The Multivan Comfortline 

with 40 cm longer wheelbase. 

Travelling as a group is more fun than travelling alone. Invite your 

golfing partners for a drive – and ask them to bring their friends along, 

too. The Multivan Comfortline with long wheelbase offers comfortable 

seating for up to eight. Up to six comfortable single passenger 

compartment seats are available for all engine versions – with the 

exception of 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The seating lay out can easily 

be adjusted as required, using the intelligent rail system. If you would 

rather travel on your own after all, the generous space can be used 

for all the luggage that you would normally have to leave at home.

always wanted to do – and with the Multivan 

Highline you have an elegant vehicle that

offers seating for up to seven on your jour- 

neys. The standard Chrome package adds 

shine to your Multivan with chrome trim 

on the sides and rear, and chrome surrounds 

for the fog lights. Equally attrac tive:

Multivan Highline. 

The interior of the Multivan Highline fulfils the promise of its attractive 

exterior: the displays in the “Premium” instrument cluster have 

chrome surrounds; and the seats are upholstered in a combination of 

high-grade leather and Alcantara or, as an option, in fine “Nappa” 

leather. Elegant aluminium look trim strips or as an option burr 

wood trim strips complete the stylish appearance. The two sliding 

doors can be operated by radio remote control, and the standard 

“Climatronic” 3-zone electronic air conditioner assures a pleasant

Some just talk about it – you actually do it! 

Simply get in, head for adventure and 

leave routine behind. On roads that not 

everyone can drive on – but the Multivan 

PanAmericana can. It’s a real off-roader 

with room for plenty of luggage and up to 

seven globe trotters wanting to experi- 

ence the journey of a lifetime. The ride 

height is increased by 20 millimetres, 

and the aluminium look front spoiler and 

side sills plus robust plastic bumpers 

practically challenge you to drive off the

Multivan PanAmericana. 

To venture into difficult terrain, you need a vehicle that gives you 

active support. Perfectly matched com po nents and extremely 

durable materials ensure that nothing and nobody can stop you 

when you are travelling in the Multivan PanAmericana. The interior 

of the Multivan PanAmericana is just as robust as its exterior. 

The seats are upholstered in hard-wearing “Cricket” leather, and 

the floor has a tough shiny aluminium chequer plate surface. Heavy 

duty rubber floor mats in the cab protect the vehicle from dirt, and 

the optional “Climatronic” makes sure that the hot, humid jungle and 

the icy tundra stay outside.

No matter whether you’re a family person, culture lover or daredevil, the design of the 

Multivan is so timeless and universal that it suits everyone. Nevertheless, it still has 

some very individual features: the distinctive radiator grille, the inset indicator lights 

and the dynamic contours. These really distinguish it from other vans. And should 

you wish to lend it even more character, there are many further optional extras available. 

The Sports package for the Multivan PanAmericana. Show the sporty side of your nature. 

Black 18" “AZEV Type TS” alloy wheels with 255/45 R 18 tyres and the PanAmericana 

running gear lowered by 20 mm give the vehicle a dynamic appearance. Bi-colour 

leather seat upholstery in “Anthracite/Classic Grey” 1) puts the finishing touches 

to the sporty look.

Chrome package. This package is the 

way to go for those who like to look a 

little smarter. Elegant chrome lends a 

shimmering touch of elegance on the 

lower air intake grille and on the sides 

and rear. The fog lamps are also encased 

in chrome.

Bi-xenon headlights. The bi-xenon headlights 

generate both low and full beam 

illumination in a single headlight. This 

increases visibility and improves safety. 

Energy-saving LEDs are installed in the 

daytime running lights.

Sliding windows. Just reach for the 

han dle to let fresh air in, quickly and 

easily – with the new sliding windows 

on both the left and right sides. 

Front spoiler with aluminium look. The 

broad front spoiler gives a powerful 

impression. The bumper made out of robust 

plastics further accentuates the 

Multivan PanAmericana’s distinctive 

appearance. 

Privacy glass 2) . The dark-tinted side 

and rear window panes offer a high degree 

of privacy in the interior, while 

providing excellent protection against 

sun rays. 

Dimmed rear lights. The Multivan 

PanAmericana features impressive details 

even at the rear. The dimmed rear 

lights, for example, give an appearance 

of discreet elegance. 

Engine underride guard. The robust aluminium guard provides a high level of protection 

for the engine and gearbox, even in extreme situations. Other protective equipment 

for the underbody can be ordered. Please bear in mind that the increase in the 

vehicle‘s unladen weight results in a lower payload. 

The insulating-glass package improves 

external noise insulation (not illus- 

trated). It reduces external noise by up to 

6 dB (A). The windscreen is made of 

insulating glass, and the side windows 

are reinforced with a special layer. All 

of the windows in the interior are darktinted 

(privacy glass). An automatically 

dimming rear view mirror and a rain sensor 

complete the package. Optional 

sliding windows ordered cannot be made 

with acoustic glass.

Our mission is to build engines that use less fuel, produce fewer pollutants and thereby 

cause less damage to the environment. Efficient common rail technology has helped 

us to achieve this goal with the TDI engines more successfully than ever before. We 

are also breaking new ground with our petrol engines – two powerful TSI engines 

with modern exhaust gas turbo charging are available for the Multivan. It goes without 

saying that all our engines fulfil the stringent Euro 5 exhaust emissions standard. 

The 2.0 l common rail diesel engines. The TDI engines are particularly efficient thanks 

to a combination of a small displacement, turbo charging and direct injection. Accurate 

injection processes under high pressure ensure that fuel is burned evenly, resulting 

in high performance at low fuel consumption. The efficiency of these engines is 

further supported by the low maintenance costs. A 2.0 l TDI engine in three different 

output levels as well as a 2.0 l BiTDI with 132 kW4) are available for the Multivan.

With BlueMotion Technology, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is setting a whole 

new benchmark for sustainable mobility. The start/stop system is among the most 

important developments here. It provides the basis for the fuel-saving measures in 

the Multivan with BlueMotion Technology. In conjunction with regenerative braking, 

cruise control and tyres with optimised rolling resistance, it significantly lowers 

fuel consumption. The technology package for the Multivan Startline can be combined 

with a 2.0 l TDI engine with 62 kW1) , and a 2.0 l engine with 84 kW2) is available for 

the Multivan Comfortline. The particularly powerful 2.0 l TDI engine with 103 kW3) can 

also be ordered for both models. Instead of the 6-speed manual gearbox, which can

Start/stop system. It automatically turns the engine off when the vehicle is in neutral

the start/stop system. The “Plus” multifunction display is included in delivery as 

standard so that you can keep an eye on the fuel consumption and other important

with an upholstery cover is available 

in conjunction with the 3-seater bench

Rear seat entertainment. The folding TFT monitor in a 16:9 cinema-format with a 

diagonal of over 25 cm and an integrated DVD player ensures great entertainment. You 

can easily adjust the settings with the backlit control buttons or the remote control, 

which is included in the delivery. The rear seat entertainment system also includes two 

infrared headphones. 


“RNS 510” radio navigation system. This system offers all functions of the “RNS 315” 

but has a colour touch screen with a diagonal of over 16 cm. The DVD supplied with 

the system contains maps for Western Europe. It can be copied on to the 30 GB hard disk 

of the “RNS 510” so that you can use the CD slot to listen to your favourite CD via eight

Cycle carrier. The carrier, which is made of anodised aluminium profile bars and weighs 13 kg, is suitable for the transportation of 

up to four bicycles (max. 60 kg). It has been pre-assembled and is therefore very easy to fit to the tailgate. It is equipped with anti-theft 

fasteners. The opening function of the tailgate is not impaired by attaching this carrier (without bicycle).

The lockable basic carrier is the basis for 

all attachments – from ski and kayak 

holders to practical roof boxes. 

Ski and snowboard holder. You can 

transport up to six pairs of skis, up to 

four snowboards or one wakeboard 

safely with this lockable carrier. It has a 

comfortable pull-out function for ease 

of loading and unloading. 

Roof box. The Titanium Metallic roof 

boxes have a capacity of 310, 340 and 

460 litres, and quick release fasteners 

make it easy to secure them. The DuoLift 

system enables the lockable boxes to 

be opened from either side.

Loading sill protection. This synthetic loading sill protector with high-quality stainless-steel 

look can be easily attached, protecting the bumper from scratches that can 

occur during loading and unloading the boot. 

The Bobsy G0-1 ISOFIX is the ideal seat 

system for children weighing up to 18 kg 

(or up to four and a half years old). The 

seat can be firmly secured to the vehicle 

body using the ISOFIX connection on 

the base frame, but can also be used without 

problems in vehicles without the 

ISOFIX system. The child seat is approved 

for use from birth up to a weight of 

around 18 kg if fitted facing backwards. 

If it is fitted facing forwards, it is approved 

for use between 9 to 18 kg. Highlights: 

the belt harness is height-adjustable 

and the seat can be adjusted to 

six angle settings. The base frames for 

fitting the child seat to the vehicle must

Bobsy G2-3 Pro. This seat system is 

ideal for children between three to twelve 

years (15 to 36 kg). With its width-adjustable 

seat cushion and the sleep support, 

it provides an optimal seatbelt position 

by keeping the belt snug to the child’s 

body. The special head part, the side 

flanks that protrude to the front and the 

fully upholstered shoulder area offer a 

high level of comfort and the best possible 

protection for small and larger children 

in the event of a side collision. To 

ensure comfort on long journeys, the 

seat height and angle can be adjusted. 

The seat covers can be easily removed 

and washed. The seat is attached using 

a three-point seat belt.

Luggage net. The tear-proof net has securing hooks that can be fastened to the standard 

lashing eyes in the load compartment to keep everything in place and prevent 

loads and luggage from sliding around. 


Wind and rain deflector. When driving with the window slightly open, the deflector 

effectively reduces spray and wind noise. It also offers protection for when the sun 

shines from the side. The deflector’s shape is an exact match to the vehicle and can 

be attached easily without drilling or adhesives. The two-piece set comprises a wind 

deflector for both side windows on the left and right. 


Luggage compartment insert. The light, 

flexible insert precisely fits the contours of 

the Multivan. An approx. 5 cm raised rim 

around the edge protects from moisture 

and dirt. The rhombus pattern integrated 

in the insert has a non-slip effect. 


Concertina folding bag. This bag provides 

plenty of storage space for shopping, 

files and toys, yet is extremely 

space saving when folded and stowed. 

It is made of black textile fabric with 

a Volkswagen logo on the side and can 

be wiped clean. The bag has integral 

straps that can be firmly secured to the 

standard lashing eyes in the luggage

brand. This naturally also applies to protection of the environment and resources. All new Volkswagen can therefore be recycled 

in an environment-friendly way and, subject to fulfilment of legal prerequisites, can be returned free of charge. You can obtain

under the telephone number 0800 – Volkswagen (0800 – 86 55 79 24 36) which is free of charge in the Federal Republic of Germany.

paintwork guarantee apply solely to vehicles of the Volkswagen brand in accordance with the current range of vehicles offered for 

the Federal Republic of Germany, and which are issued with a service booklet from Volkswagen AG for the German market. The 

services offered on these pages apply only to the German market.

features of the German market and is in accordance with the information available at the time of going to print. Your local Volkswagen
