Discussion and Action on Non-Renewal of Non-Tenured Teachers
DISCUSSION: Superintendent Merlone explained that she provided the Board Chair with a list of year 1 and year 2
teachers for non-renewal in case the city gives the Board of Education a 0% increase for the 2010-2011 school year.
She said she gave written notice to all the teachers indicating that she was going to inform the Board of projected nonrenewals.
Mr. Lawlor added that by notifying all non-tenured teachers by March 31 st we are protecting ourselves. Our
budget will not be set until May 17 th .
