<strong>Plant</strong> large, vigorous, suckering rosettes; spikes erect to arching; tepals<br />

and filaments reddish.<br />

292665. Col. '<strong>No</strong>. 20081. Roadside by Rio Tula, 13 miles northwest of<br />

Ixmilquilpan, road to Zimapan, Hidalgo. Elevation 5,300 feet. <strong>Plant</strong>s<br />

variable, scattered in wild; leaves large, variable; teeth variable;<br />

spikes to 20 feet high, in bud, flowering and fruiting; flowers yellow<br />

or pink tinged; anthers yellow or bronze; tepals reflexing erect.<br />

feet. <strong>Plant</strong>s polycarpic, green, forming open mounds; leaves soft, tender;<br />

leaf length and teeth variable; spikes dense or lax, to 12 feet high; capsules<br />

fleshy; flowers green without, yellow within; filaments and anthers<br />

yellow; tepals outcurved.<br />

<strong>Plant</strong>s small, compact, many leaved, suckering; leaves white marked, stiff;<br />

spiked to 13 feet high, erect, densely flowered in upper half; flowers creamy<br />

green, pink tinged; filaments pink to red; anthers bronze yellow.<br />

pedicels broad; sheathing bracts conspicuous; laterals broadest below, 15-<br />

20; tepals yellow to green, waxy; anthers yellow.<br />

85, 18 miles northwest of Zimpan, Hidalgo. Rosettes medium to large,<br />

light green; stems many, thick; leaves basal, thick at base, somewhat guttering;<br />

panicle with large bracts to laterals; spikes to 17 feet high; tepals<br />

and stamen yellow, the rest green.<br />

east of Saltillo, Coahuila. Elevation 8,500 feet. Rosettes large, green;<br />

leaves stiff, triangular; on a big head; flower buds red on tepals, later<br />

yellowish.<br />

north of Junction of Routes 57 and 110, and one plant 1.5 miles south of<br />

junction of Routes 57 and 110, Guanajuato. Elevation 6,300 feet. Individual<br />

plant glaucous gray; rosette balled on mount of soil; leaves awry.<br />

Col. <strong>No</strong>. 20088. Limestone rock roadside, Sierra San Manuel, 21.5 miles<br />

southeast of Ciudad San Luis Potosi, road to Rio Verde. Elevation 7,500<br />

feet. Scattered seedling population; rosettes green; leaves radial, plane;<br />

teeth variable, porrect, on continuous margin; spikes stout, to 10 feet high;<br />

flowers congested in upper half; tepals yellowish green, with tips outflexed;<br />

anthers yellow. Wild.
