de Jiiarez. <strong>Plant</strong>s many leaved, radial, suckering; rosettes green; leaves<br />

swordlike, stiff, long; teeth heavy, black.<br />

beyond Ixtlan, road to Tuxtepec, Oaxaca. Elevation 2,900 meters. <strong>Plant</strong>s<br />

large, glaucous green (the largest wild agave seen by the collector), forming<br />

seedling population on rocky, forested slope; leaves wide, ascending, to<br />

2 meters long and 40 cm. wide; peduncle thick, to 10 meters high, with 12<br />

to 18 short laterals. Densely fruited, now in bud:<br />

Rosettes mostly single, radial, green with ascending straight plane leaves;<br />

spike with short umbellate branches 5 meters high with open capsules.<br />
