33.3. Only Judges, Directors in charge of each<br />

Section, Stewards and Commentators may<br />

enter the Commentators’ Boxes, unless at the<br />

discretion of the Chief Steward of that Section.<br />

Control of Exhibits<br />

34. Stock entered for competitions are subject<br />

to the orders of the Stewards while in the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground, and such Stock may not be<br />

withdrawn from competition without the<br />

consent of the Stewards or <strong>Show</strong> Manager. All<br />

persons in charge of Stock, or other exhibits,<br />

and all persons admitted into the <strong>Show</strong>ground,<br />

shall be subject to the rules of the Society, and<br />

shall obey the orders of the Stewards, <strong>Show</strong><br />

Manager and other officials of the Society.<br />

Exhibitors shall be answerable for the conduct<br />

of their attendants or representatives.<br />

Display of Names Prohibited<br />

35. Exhibitors and other persons in charge of<br />

Stock are prohibited from displaying the name<br />

of the Exhibitor or herd name either on guiding<br />

sticks or bats, or in any other way, whilst the<br />

animals are being judged.<br />

Prizes and Commendations<br />

36. Prizes will be awarded as shown at the<br />

beginning of each Section. No rosettes or prize<br />

cards other than those awarded under the<br />

auspices of the RHASS at the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Highland</strong><br />

<strong>Show</strong> may be displayed.<br />

Inter-Breed Competitions<br />

37. In any Inter-Breed competition where the<br />

appointed Inter-Breed Judge would be<br />

ineligible to place an animal under the terms of<br />

the Regulations for the Appointment of<br />

Judges, then that animal will be replaced in the<br />

competition by the animal which was placed<br />

reserve to it in its appropriate breed<br />

championship.<br />

Bred by Exhibitor and Group Awards<br />

38. The term “bred by Exhibitor” shall be held<br />

to mean that only animals solely owned by the<br />

breeder are eligible to compete for a “bred’’<br />

award. Only animals solely owned by the same<br />

Exhibitor are eligible to compete for awards for<br />

“groups the property of one Exhibitor’’.<br />

Protests<br />

39.1. A protest having reference to exhibits at<br />

the <strong>Show</strong> may be lodged by any person having<br />

interest.<br />

39.2. Protests having reference to<br />

Competitions which take place prior to the<br />

opening of the <strong>Show</strong> or on the first day<br />

thereof must be lodged in writing with the<br />

<strong>Show</strong> Manager at his office in the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground not later than 7.00 p.m. on the<br />

Thursday of the <strong>Show</strong>, and parties must be in<br />

attendance at the <strong>Show</strong> Manager’s Office in<br />

the <strong>Show</strong>ground at 10.00 a.m. on Friday of the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>, when protests may be disposed of.<br />

Protests relating to Competitions taking place<br />

after the Thursday of the <strong>Show</strong> must be<br />

lodged before 8.00 p.m. on the day on which<br />

the particular exhibition takes place. Parties<br />

making protests relating to Competitions held<br />

on the Friday or Saturday of the <strong>Show</strong> must be<br />

in attendance at the <strong>Show</strong> Manager’s Office in<br />

the <strong>Show</strong>ground at 10.00 a.m. on the<br />

following morning. Protests relating to<br />

Competitions held on the last day of the <strong>Show</strong><br />

will be considered by the Board of Directors at<br />

their first meeting following the <strong>Show</strong> after<br />

which the decision of the Board of Directors<br />

will be made known to the parties making<br />

protest.<br />

39.3. Each protest must state specifically the<br />

grounds of objection, and must be<br />

accompanied by a deposit of £20 which, if the<br />

protest is dismissed, may be forfeited. Protests<br />

may be lodged at any time by Directors of the<br />

Society, and in this case no deposit will be<br />

required.<br />

39.4. Protests on veterinary grounds will not be<br />

accepted.<br />

VARIOUS<br />

Promotional Materials and Activities<br />

40. No bills of any kind, other than those of the<br />

Society or for which prior approval in writing<br />

has been obtained, may be displayed within<br />

the <strong>Show</strong>ground or Car Parks or on the<br />

approaches thereto. No newspapers or any<br />

other articles to be carried about the<br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground for sale or display.<br />

Vehicles in <strong>Show</strong>ground<br />

41.1. No vehicles will be admitted during the<br />

<strong>Show</strong> without a special official pass.<br />

41.2. All drivers, equipment and vehicles using<br />

the roadways within the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Highland</strong><br />

<strong>Show</strong>ground MUST comply with the Road<br />

Traffic Act.<br />
