NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY GUIDELINES<br />
The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Highland</strong> <strong>Show</strong> is affiliated to the National Pony Society and we set out appropriate guidelines<br />
within this Prize List. You should also refer to the website on www.nationalponysociety.org.uk for<br />
the complete set of rules and regulations relative to each section and for membership requirements.<br />
NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship Conditions<br />
To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes can only be awarded to ponies<br />
owned by NPS qualifying or Life Members. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a Member, the<br />
rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided it is owned by an NPS Member. If the<br />
Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification<br />
goes to the Reserve Champion Pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The<br />
Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification can only be awarded no lower than first Reserve. Foals are<br />
not eligible for Silver Medal championships.<br />
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in either the NPS/The Minns M & M Ridden Silver Medal Championship<br />
to be held at the NPS Summer Championship <strong>Show</strong> 6th - 8th August 2013 or at the Championship <strong>Show</strong><br />
in Scotland. Qualifiers may only compete in one Minns final.<br />
NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds<br />
These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their<br />
respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most<br />
NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS Members and Non Members but only ponies owned<br />
by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the<br />
NPS Championship <strong>Show</strong> at Malvern from 6th - 8th August 2013.<br />
The three highest placed ponies, if owned by an NPS members, in each class will qualify for<br />
the Final. Qualification may not pass further down the line than third.<br />
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see<br />
definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These<br />
ponies, if owned by NPS Members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer<br />
Championship <strong>Show</strong>.<br />
NPS Scotland Championship Final Qualifiers 2013<br />
To be held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials on 23 August.<br />
We are holding qualifiers for the following Championships:<br />
NPS Scotland/ Scottish Farmer-Scottish Horse In Hand Mountain & Moorland Championship.<br />
The Champion & Res. Champion in all Mixed pure bred M. & M. or Breed Championships will qualify<br />
for the Final . Qualification may go to 3rd in the Championship( ie 1st Reserve Champion)<br />
This can be either mixed M. & M. or Breed Classes<br />
NPS Scotland/Baileys Horse Feeds Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland Championship.<br />
The 2 highest placed ponies, not already qualified, in each class will qualify for the Final. Qualifications<br />
to go no lower than 6th place<br />
This can be either mixed M. & M. or Breed Classes<br />
NPS Scotland/ Kilgraston School M&M Lead Rein & First Ridden Championship<br />
The 2 highest placed ponies in the Lead Rein and First ridden class not already qualified will go forward<br />
to the final. Qualifications to go no lower than 6th place<br />
NPS Scotland/Kingfisher Building Products Mountain & Moorland Open WHP Championship.<br />
The 3 highest placed ponies, in each class not already qualified, will qualify for the Final. Qualifications<br />
to go no lower than 6th place.<br />
NPS Scotland/NFU Mutual Open In-hand Riding Pony/Hunter Pony Championship<br />
The highest placed pony, in each open in-hand Riding Pony or Hunter Pony Class(foal classes excluded)<br />
will qualify for the Final.<br />
