DEA Identification of Controlled Substances Controlled substances are labeled with a large “C” and contain a roman numeral in the center to identify the schedule of the substance. The drugs and drug products that come under the jurisdiction of the Controlled Substance Act are divided into 5 schedules. These schedules are:
Controlled Substances Act: Drug Scheduling Schedule Description: Examples: I. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
