while X = 1/250 th sec. is ideal for synchro photography. This
high-speed shutter enables shooting at maximum aperture
so that the superior optical quality of ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses
can always be enjoyed to the fullest, even in bright sunlight.
The design of the mirror box was also improved to reduce
the time required for raising the mirror. This mechanism is
now faster and shutter delay has been greatly reduced.

withstood a 150,000 continuous
shot durability test.

In combination with the improved TruePic III processor and
a redesigned mirror mechanism, the high-speed Live MOS
sensor enables sequential shooting at up to five frames per
second in full 10 Megapixel mode.

Special complementary processors are located inside the
body where large volumes of data need to be processed.
Three processors ensure fast data rates: the AF processor
reads data from the AF sensor, the TruePic III processor
takes care of image data, and the IS processor manages
image stabilisation by counteracting camera
