(EHS Fitness Team Continued from page 14) Other Highlights - * 5 Nights staying in USMC Barracks * 5 Days eating @ USMC Mess Hall * Awards Banquet @ Bayside Officer Club * Attended Padre/Dodger Baseball game * Visited: Seaport Village, Old Town San Diego, Horton Plaza/Gaslight District, Coronado Island, Mission Beach. * All Senior National Team Members were invited to the June Meeting of the Emmaus Lions Club. * Representative Doug Reichley, Representative Karen Beyer, Senator Bob Mensch and Senator Pat Brown presented PA State House & Senate Proclamations to all National Team Members. The ceremony was televised by both TV2 Sports Channel and Channel 69 Sports in early August. WAY TO GO FITNESS TEAM!!! S.T.E.P. Support Teens of East Penn Emmaus High School Parent Volunteer Organization STEP is a volunteer group of parents in East Penn that sponsors activities to encourage our youth to have fun without the use of drugs or alcohol. Members of STEP include parents, teachers, administrators and citizens of East Penn School District. STEP Activities…. Our group of volunteers teams with the EHS Student Government Association, freshmen orientation, September tailgate party, homecoming dance, snowball dance, and the EHS Final Fling. These events provide a wonderful opportunity for parent volunteers to participate at the school wide events. STEP Sponsored Event of the Year SENIOR AFTERBALL PARTY: FRIDAY, MAY 21, 2011 This event is an all night theme party open to all seniors at EHS. We plan this event to offer an alternative to individual after prom parties. Last year’s event had 700 + students attend with another ACCIDENT FREE PROM SEASON. It includes food, a casino, game shows, carnival games, a full size miniature golf course, a DJ, massages, air brush tattoos, and huge prizes. One lucky senior won a CAR last year! This event is funded strictly by donations and run entirely by volunteers. Over 250 volunteers made this event a huge success!! Volunteers are urgently needed, especially underclassmen parents! We need your help on several committees; co-chair positions are available NEXT meeting: OCTOBER 25, 2010 STEP meetings are scheduled on the 4 th Monday of most months during the school year. Meetings start at 6:30 pm in room 353 at EHS and last only ONE hour! Attendance is voluntary. To join STEP, please complete a membership form, which can be found at www.eastpennsd.org/ ehs/ . Select “programs,” and the STEP link can be found in the left column. The membership form can be printed from there.
