Greene King brews all its beers at Bury 

St Edmunds. The company is still as 

committed to brewing today as it was when it 

started some200 years ago, and is proud of the 

quality, variety and reputation of its 

excellent range of cask, keg and bottled beers. 

They intend to maintain their investment in, 

and commitment to, cask ale in the knowledge 

that national brewers are selling, closing 

or scaling down their brewing activities. 

ABBOT ALE • 5.0% 

Abbot is an irresistible ale with masses 

of fruit characters, a malty richness and 

superb hop balance. It is brewed longer 

to a unique recipe, which makes it the 

full-flavoured, smooth and mature beer 

it is today. 

OLD SPECKLED HEN • 4.5% 

Old Speckled Hen has a full, smooth 

flavour and is very easy to drink. Its rich 

amber colour and superb fruity aromas 

are complemented by a delicious blend 

of malty tastes. Toffee and malt combine 

with bitterness on the back of the 

tongue to give a balanced sweetness, 

followed by a refreshingly dry finish. 

BLACK SHEEP 

BITTER • 3.8% 

Far and away Black Sheep's best selling cask beer, 

a well hopped, light golden best bitter with a 

distinctive, dry refreshing tast, to be enjoyed in 

true Black Sheep style through a rich creamy head. 

TIMOTHY TAYLORS 

LANDLORD • 4.3% 

A classic strong pale ale, Landlord has won more 

awards nationally than any other beer. 

This includes three times as Champion at the 

Brewers' International Exhibition. 

COPPER DRAGON 

GOLDEN PIPPIN • 4.0% 

A light refreshing blond ale brewed using a new 

variety of hop creating a citrus fruit flavour. 

Originally a seasonal ale, it proved so popular, 

it’s now brewed all year round.

EPA • 3.6% 

Pale gold, citrusy, hoppy ale. 

WELLS/ YOUNGS 

BOMBARDIER • 4.1% 

Bombardier is an iconic real beer loaded with 

distinct English brilliance. It's the epitome of 

impeccable taste and great character. The rich, 

full-bodied nectar is a lingering reward - English, 

ever reliable and damned tasty. 

WYCHWOOD 

HOBGOBLIN • 4.5% 

A deep mysterious brew combining dark chocolate 

and crystal malts to give a rich fruity tast and terrific 

chestnut colour.

BARN BUSTER • 4.2% 

BarnBuster is a rich amber ale, brewed to our 

own original recipe, full bodied yet smooth, rich 

in colour and taste, mildly bitter with a distant 

hint of spicyness.

Golden sheep is a beautifully balanced, light cask 

ale that’s perfect for summer drinking. Gloriously 

refreshing, it’s a direct descendant from the popular 

Golden Sheep bottled ale. 

ALE • 4.4% 

Black Sheep Ale is a full flavoured, premium bitter 

with a rich fruity aroma. We use plenty of choice 

Golding hops which give it a roast coffee maltiness 

followed by Black Sheep’s characteristic refreshingly 

dry and bitter finish. 

BLUE MONKEY 

B.G. SIPS • 4.0% 

A pale and intensely hoppy beer. Enticing tropical fruit 

aromas, finished with a good level of thirst quenching, 

almost peppery bitterness. 

SANCTUARY • 4.1% 

A traditional light copper coloured ale, but with a 

hoppy twist. Sanctuary is a great choice as a regular 

session beer as it has a moderate ABV and traditional 

colour, but is spiced up with a generous and unusual 

combination of German and American hops. 

CASTLE ROCK 

HARVEST PALE • 3.8% 

Harvest Pale is brewed with a gently-kilned malt, 

and an during the brewing process gives this 3.8% 

alc pale beer exceptionalaromatic blend of American 

hops added poise. Its distinct hop flavour leads to a 

crisp finish. Harvest Pale has firmly established itself 

as Castle Rock’s Flagship Beer. SIBA National. 

FULLERS BREWERY 

LONDON PRIDE • 4.1% 

A ruby beer brewed with Fuggles and Progress hops, 

hoppy and fruity aftertaste with a bittersweet finish. 

CONWY 

CELEBRATION ALE • 4.2% 

A copper coloured bitter with a well balanced 

blend of malt & hops. An initial rich, maltymouth 

feel is rounded off by orangey/zesty hops and a 

touch of spice. 

CLOGWYN GOLD • 3.6% 

A light, quaffable golden ale with plenty of hop 

aroma and a long bitter finish. A very tasty beer 

for its strength. 

WELSH PRIDE • 4.5% 

Amber in colour,with an explosion of hops. 

The elderflower aromas are impressive with 

sweetish malt & more hops coming through in 

a satisfying finish. 

DARK STAR 

AMERICAN PALE • 4.7% 

The yeast strain used for the brewing of this 

American style pale ale is specially imported 

from the uSA, along with Cascade, Centennial 

and Chinook hops. The low colour Maris Otter 

malt provides a perfect light colour and dryness 

to complement the crisp taste and full aroma of 

the hops. SERIOuSLY FuLL OF HOPS 

HOPHEAD • 3.8% 

An extremely clean-drinking pale golden ale with a 

strong floral aroma and elderflower notes from the 

Cascade hops. This beer is full-bodied and 

full-flavoured yet gentle enough to make it a 

favourite session beer. 

GRAYS 

CELTIC GOLD• 4.0% 

A golden bitter with a pleasant 

balance of hops & malt. Hops 

continue from the tast to a smooth bitter finish. 

CHAMPION• 5.1% 

A strong dark brown ale with complex balance of fruit, 

malt and roast flavours through to the finish. 

ENGLAND'S PRIDE • 4.5% 

A dark brew combining chocolate and crystal malts 

to give a luscious toffee, malty flavour with hop 

and bitterness an the aftertaste. 

GRAYS BITTER • 3.8% 

Drinking beauty of a beer, with hoppy flavours 

and a clean finish.

CUMBERLAND • 4.0% 

A light , creamy, hoppy beer with a dry aftertaste. 

MOBBERLEY 

HEDGE-HOPPER • 3.8% 

Rich and golden in colour, with lovely head 

retention, with a hint of hoppyness and a very 

pleasant lingering, mildly bitter but malty aftertaste. 

KELHAM ISLAND 

EASY RIDER • 4.3% 

Easy Rider is a subtle, easy drinking premium 

strength pale ale. The initial crisp bitterness gently 

gives way to a lingering fruity aftertaste. Easy Rider 

is brewed using the finest malted English barley, 

together with hand picked hops and water drawn 

from the Pennines. 

PALE RIDER • 5.2% 

A legend of a beer, Champion Beer of Britain 2004, 

much imitated never bettered! A pale ale brewed 

with the finest British maris otter malt and a blend 

of the best hops the uSA has to offer. A delightful 

moreish beer where a berry fruit and citrus aroma 

mingles with juicy malt tones. Delicate and sweet 

on a palate complimenting the resounding 

concerto of flavours. 

LEEDS 

LEEDS PALE • 3.8% 

An easy drinking pale ale. Light and hoppy with 

delicate floral notes and a well balanced finish. 

YORKSHIRE GOLD • 4.0% 

Yorkshire Gold 4.0% ABV. A light hoppy bitter. 

Select Chinook hops give citrus notes to this. 

OAKHAM 

INFERNO • 4.0% 

This light, igniting ale flickers complex fruits across 

your tongue, leaving a dry, fruity, bitter finish, 

smothering your thirst. 

JHB • 3.8% 

A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops 

that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit 

on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. 

Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavours. 

PHOENIX BREWERY 

ARIZONA • 4.1% 

Dry as a desert. Refreshing as an oasis – Pale 

in Colour. 

HOPSACK • 3.8% 

Light drinking session beer, very hoppy. 

NAVVY • 3.8% 

Golden in colour, well balance and full bodied. 

WHITE MONK • 4.5% 

Fresh & Clean drinking, leaving a lingering 

finish – Pale in Colour. 

MCMULLENS 

AK • 3.7% 

Our award-winning bitter uses a carefully balanced 

mixture of pale ale and chocolate malts to give a soft 

malty taste, while WGV hops give a light fragrant 

aroma and clean finish. A popular and refreshing 

easy-drinking bitter. 

COUNTRY BITTER • 4.3% 

The recipe for Country's distinct fruity taste is 

a testament to this when we carefully mix the 

Progress, Brambling Cross and English Fuggle hops. 

The addition of crystal malt to the pale ale malt 

creates a light colour and adds a nutty taste. 

Best bitter drinkers will really enjoy this beautifully 

balanced complex ale. 

PURPLE MOOSE 

GLASLYN • 4.2% 

A golden coloured fruity best bitter with a well 

balanced hoppy finish. 

SNOWDONIA • 3.6% 

A delightfully refreshing pale ale brewed with Pale 

and Crystal malt with a delicate combination 

of Pioneer, Styrian Goldings and Lubelski hops.

BOONDOGGLE • 4.2% 

Boondoggle is a deliciously fruity ale 

affectionately crafted to savour and satisfy. 

WADWORTH 

6X • 4.3% 

A delightful copper coloured beer with a malty fruity 

nose and a restrained hop character. Full bodied and 

distincitve with a lingering malty finish. 

RUDGATE 

RUBY MILD • 4.4% 

Nutty rich ruby ale, stronger than usual for a 

mild ale. 

WELLS/ YOUNGS 

COURAGE DIRECTORS • 4.8% 

Full bodied with a clean, bitter taste, balanced 

with a sweet burnt, malty and fruity notes with 

a distinctive dry-hop aroma and flavour. 

SALOPIAN 

ORACLE • 4.0% 

The intention of the hop character is to be 

pronounced but not all encompassing, dry 

but not overtly bitter and a tiny hint of sweetness 

to add body. 

SHROPSHIRE GOLD • 3.8% 

Golden, with a flora aroma and a full hoppy 

flavour that is balanced by a crisp dry maltiness 

and a rich finish. 

SHARPS 

DOOM BAR • 4.0% 

“The aroma of Doom Bar combines an 

accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, 

inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. 

The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex 

blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty 

notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The 

bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity 

notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.”

THORNBRIDGE 

BROTHER RABBIT • 4.0% 

Lemon zest in colour with a clean, hoppy aroma. 

A resinous finish and some bitterness. 

JAIPUR • 5.9% 

A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate 

impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a 

crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by 

honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

We often get asked how or why we got into 

brewing. Call it destiny or 'beer's in the blood'. 

However it happened, it has allowed the whole 

family to play a role in building a brewery that 

reflects and respects the heritage of good beer 

production. 

Generations of experience have taught us that 

consistently good beer and service make for a 

brewery worth remembering. That is fundamental 

to everything that we do. 

OTTER BITTER • 3.6% 

Otter Bitter is a beautifully light 

and fruity beer with good hoppy 

bitterness. It leaves a refreshing 

bitterness which prompts the next 

gulp. A wonderful old fashioned, 

'session' beer. Brewed fro drinking 

with no frills. 

BRIGHT• 4.3% 

It is a very refreshing beer with a 

fruity taste. The aftertaste is sweet 

with a subtle bitterness which is 

likely to leave you wanting more. 

Y.P.A. • 4.1% 

A two-time gold medal winner at the 

prestigious World Beer Cup, YPA 

(Yorkshire Pale Ale) is a pale, aromatic, 

summer ale that offers up delicate 

peachy and berry fruit flavours for 

our taste buds to feast on. 

YANKEE • 4.3% 

One of the original, new-style, pale 

ales to be brewed in the uK, Yankee 

is a modern classic. Light and 

easy-drinking, it’s a beer that 

showcases the floral and citrus fruit 

aromas of the Cascade hop, grown in 

the Yakima Valley in Washington State, 

uSA, projected against a back drop 

of soft Yorkshire water and golden 

promise pale malt. 

Roosters 

Hatched in 1993, at a time when 

most ales on the market were 

brown, Rooster’s Brewing Co. fast 

developed a reputation for brewing 

ground-breaking, hop-forward pale 

ales that showcase exciting new 

hops from the uSA.

Ale has been a feature of life at our home since 

at least as far back as 1086. We know this because 

the Great Abbey's 'cerevisiarii' or ale brewers are 

mentioned in the Domesday Book. But we've taken 

the traditional craft of brewing to new heights, 

producing what is arguably the finest range 

of cask ales in the country. 

GK IPA • 3.6% 

Crafted with locally sourced, 100% 

english ingredients from the heart 

of suffolk. the characteristic hoppy 

taste & aroma from the use of 

challenger & first gold hops, which 

are combined with pale & crystal 

malts creates this perfectly balanced, 

premium quality beer. 

GK MORLANDS 

ORIGINAL• 4.0% 

Has a fresh floral hop aroma from 

golding hops with a strong character. 

BITTER & TWISTED • 3.8% 

A refreshing blonde beer with a 

hoppy profile and the finish of lemon. 

Judiciously hopped with Hersbrucker 

and Challenger and late hopped with 

Styrian Golding. 

SCHIEHALLION • 4.8% 

A crisp cask-conditioned lager beer 

with the fresh taste of grapefruit. 

Fermented at very low temperature 

with a lager yeast and delicately 

hopped with Hersbrucker. 

Harviestoun 

Harviestoun Brewery was founded 

in 1983. From humble beginnings in 

Dollar it has grown into a 60-barrel, 

purpose-built brewery that nestles 

at the foot of the Ochil Hills in the 

heart of Clackmannanshire.

PRESERVATION • 4.4% 

Brewed to the traditional East Midlands style. 

id-brown / reddish easy drinking full flavoured 

best bitter is well rounded with some residual 

sweetness which is balanced with a resinous hop 

character. A hugely popular beer that deserves to 

be savoured! 

DENT 

AVIATOR • 4.0% 

This amber-coloured ale with strong hints of citrus 

and a hoppy full flavour develops into an enjoyable 

bitter finish. 

GOLDEN FLEECE • 3.7% 

A great thirst-quenching drink, light and hoppy 

with a balance of sweetness to the taste a brilliant 

blond session beer. 

INBEV 

DRAUGHT BASS • 4.4% 

A classic ale with a malty, fruity, nutty aroma 

and a complex, satisfying flavour. 

LANCASTER 

AMBER • 3.7% 

This has been achieved by the canny blend of Pale, 

& Crystal Malts and the addition of Roasted Barley. 

Biscuity, aromatic, well balanced with a long 

malty finish. 

BLONDE • 4.1% 

Extremely quaffable and highly enjoyable. 

A fusion of Pale and Lager malts gives this 

multi-award winning beer its unique flavour. 

MARBLE BREWERY 

MANCHESTER BITTER • 4.2% 

Aromas are biscuity malts, some spicy hop. 

PINT • 3.9% 

Pale straw-gold colour and a sharp hoppy 

aroma with a strong. 

FULLERS 

SEAFARERS • 3.6% 

The secret of the hugely satisfying, refreshing taste 

of this light, amber beer is in the blend of finest 

quality English malt, Admiral hops and the 

unique Gales yeast. 

FUZZY DUCK 

CUNNING STUNT • 4.3% 

Amber coloured single-hop beer brewed with 

American Willamette hops. The rub of the hops 

gives an estery/blackcurrant/herbal aroma. 

PHEASANT PLUCKER • 4.2% 

Amber beer with a slightly spicy taste and a citrus 

finish from the late addition of Cascade hops. 

MARSTONS 

PEDIGREE • 4.5% 

Marston's Pedigree is still brewed the best way 

known to Master Brewer's using Burton well water, 

the unions system and with a passion for the result. 

RUDGATE 

JORVIK BLONDE • 3.8% 

Flaxen blonde ale with a balanced hoppy bitterness 

and a crisp fruity finish. 

SHEPHERDS NEAME 

SPITFIRE • 4.2% 

The glowing amber of this premium Kentish ale has 

aromas of tangy malt, soft raisins and sweet oranges.

Clean the Shive.

52°F - 54°F or 

11°C - 12°C

24 Hours after delivery 

Vent the Barrel to reduce 

the CO2 in the Ale. 

6. 

Roll the barrel. 

This mixes the 

finings so they will 

settle the beer evenly.

Waggle the peg to 

slowly release pressure.

Check the aroma. 

Stillaging. 

Let the barrel stand for 

24 Hours after delivery 

to allow the Ale to chill 

down to the cellar 

temperature. 3. 

Tap the Barrel.

Check the taste. 

Clean the keystone. 

This ensures there are 

no contaminents that 

can affect the beer.

After inserting the 

tap, insert a soft peg 

and allow keg to 

vent for 48 Hours.
