Lee DeWyze is currently
in the midst of a busy tour
schedule in support of his
Vanguard Records debut —
“Frames” — and this latest
release has the music world
buzzing. The album has garnered
praise from some of the top
music news outlets in the world,
such as the Los Angeles Times,
Chicago Tribune, Yahoo Music,
Rolling Stone and more. His
songwriting chops are making
quite a dent across other
mediums as well.
Television shows like “Nashville,”
“Reign,” and “Hart of Dixie” have
featured his music in broadcasts
and he really picked up traction
when “The Walking Dead”
picked up DeWyze’s “Blackbird
Song.” The song has so far raked
in 50,000 single unit sales, 2
million collective YouTube views,
and has over 1.1 million Spotify
streams. The song is considered
one of the top 10 syncs of 2014
by the Music Guild Association.
Blake Lewis first came
to national attention as
one of the most unique
contestants ever to
compete on “American
Idol,” and long before
that, as a teenager, he was
well-known as “Bshorty”
in Seattle’s a cappella,
hip-hop, and rave scenes.
But with the release of his
ambitious and completely
independent third album,
“Portrait of a Chameleon,”
Lewis is taking things to
a whole new level. The
follow-up to the critically
acclaimed “Audio Day
Dream” — which sold
350,000 copies and
featured the top 40 single
“Break Anotha” — is “fun,
sexy, and positive. I’d call it
‘future pop,’” says Blake.
