AUNTIE HELEN’S:<br />

Back stronger then ever... like the legendary phoenix, out of the ashes to rise<br />
once again. Auntie Helen’s wants there customers and donors to feel like they<br />
are part of the Auntie Helen’s family. Every time someone volunteers, brings an<br />
item to donate or buys something, they are helping someone in our community,<br />
it may even be someone they know.<br />
Auntie Helen’s was founded in July, 1988 by Gary Cheatham to provide laundry<br />
service to people living with AIDS.<br />
Today, Auntie Helen’s continues that mission as San Diego area’s oldest direct<br />
service provider to people living with HIV/AIDS, HepC, mental illness, the<br />
homeless, and other life-changing illnesses.<br />
The thrift store is located at 4127 30th Street San Diego, CA 92104<br />
Spring is here and this is the perfect time to clean out your closets and freshen<br />
up your home. So lets organize and de-clutter, so when summer hit’s we can all<br />
spend time in the sun. Once you have do that you will feel great knowing that<br />
your home is spring clean fresh, but don’t head to the trash can instead, gather<br />
up those gently-used items you no longer want, and donate them to Auntie<br />
Helen’s where they will be sold at amazingly affordable prices. And the best<br />
part is the proceeds from the sales helps our community.<br />

TIMOTHY CAUDILL:<br />
Timothy Caudill, who survivied a serious knife attack at The San Diego<br />
Eagle on February 25th <strong>2015</strong>. Caudill is a Marine Corps veteran which<br />
kicked in that night I’m sure, Caudill would like to use this experience<br />
to make a difference in our community. This is what became of that<br />
night February 25th........<br />
Launching a collaboration of partners to serve the LGBTQ community<br />
Key LGBTQ resource providers and 2-1-1 San Diego have begun<br />
discussions about a community LGBTQ resource navigation line. This<br />
LGBTQ collaborative forum and work group will hold discussions over<br />
the next several months with the end goal being a line staffed by<br />
specialists who are not only knowledgeable of available resources, but<br />
are also keenly aware of the particular vulnerabilities and barriers to<br />
access that are so often faced by individuals and families within the<br />
LGBTQ community. This was a quote from Timothy Caudill “ I want<br />

THE TEAM’S TAKE THE FIELD:<br />
America’s Finest City Softball League (“AFCSL”) was formed in 1981 as a place<br />
for Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender people to come together and play<br />
softball. The league has 3 divisions for all skill levels and is open to ALL athletes,<br />
regardless of sexual orientation!<br />
To see all these people set aside there diversities and come together for some<br />
fun in the name of baseball is what this is all about. I have followed a few teams<br />
and had the honor of judging a turnabout show for the players which was called<br />
Hits,Runs,and Whores a softball Dragstavaganza, and I can say they do well in<br />
heels. On March 8th was open Day for the leagues at the Poway Sportsplex<br />
it was an amazing day as they rang in there 34th season and honoring one of<br />
there own Michael Petracca #33 for the San Diego Firestorm who was seriously<br />
injured at the Sin City Tournament in Las Vegas. I’m happy to report Mike is<br />
doing well and was at Opening Day, I asked Mike if he had anything to say to us<br />
and he replayed “ I’m feeling great and I thank the league for all the support<br />
and love “<br />
I do want to recognize a few of the other teams which I have followed,The Flicks<br />
Fireballs, Team Loft-B The Loft, The Hitmen of #1 on Fifth, However all the teams<br />
are a wonderful group of players Baseball Baseball I mean.............. to find out<br />
