Camp HTSACC 2011
CIT Program
Counselor in Training (CIT) Program Description: Hanover Township residents entering grades 9 and 10
can apply to be a Counselor in Training for Camp HTSACC. The CIT program is designed to train teens to
become leaders and eventually camp counselors. CITS will learn many skills and techniques for leading
activities and directing small groups in a fun setting with their peers. CITs will be supervised by a Group
Leader and/or adult staff at all times, and will participate in Camp meetings and trainings. This program is
excellent for someone who wants to work with children. It is also a great program to add to a teen’s resume for
college entrance.
Hours:
8:15 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday for the 4 selected weeks
**Note – as CITs are considered campers, if Before or After Care is required CITs may be signed up for either or
both programs as campers at the full camp fee.
Sessions: I June 27 – July 22
II July 25 – August 19
CITs may apply for 1 session, but may request a second. Depending on the number of applicants, we will
assign a second session, if available, after all candidates are interviewed and placed.

The Summer program operates at Memorial Junior School at 61 Highland Avenue in Whippany. Enter
MJS through the Commons entrance.
CITs are NOT considered part of the Camp HTSACC staff, but rather as campers. As they will have all
of the benefits of full day camp, there is a reduced fee to attend. As with our Camp, the cost of all trips
and transportation is included in the fee. CITs will pay $400.00 per 4 week session to attend (regular fee
for 4 full weeks of camp is $800.00). If required, Early and After Care is additional, at regular camp fees.
Payment for the CIT session and any additional services is due, in full, when the position is offered and
accepted.
Application Information
Application: Teens interested in being a CIT must apply. The application process includes an interest form, a
brief essay, 2 recommendations and an interview. Upon acceptance, CITs must attend an orientation event in
June in the Memorial Junior School Library (date TBD).
Annual Family Enrollment Fee: The Family Enrollment fee of $25.00 must be paid if the CIT has a younger
sibling attending Camp HTSACC. If the CIT does not have a younger sibling attending Camp HTSACC, the
registration fee will be waived. However, all Camp HTSACC registration paperwork and medical forms must
be completed, as is required of all campers, when the position is offered and accepted.
Program Information
HTSACC Summer Program Description: The Hanover Township School Age Child Care program operates the
Summer Program for children who are residents of Hanover Township and entering grades K-8. The Summer Program
schedule is filled with staff directed activities as well as time to allow children to explore their interests. The program
balances scheduled activities and a relaxed environment that is fun, safe and enriching.

Field Trips: CITs will attend field trips and will be part of a group. At no time will they be alone with a group of
children.
