Program Staff<br />
The Integrated Preschool classes<br />
are instructed by certified teachers<br />
and all sections have at least one<br />
classroom assistant.<br />

Hours: 2 ¼ Hours Per Day<br />
5 Days Per Week<br />
The school year follows the<br />
<strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>’<br />
regular school calendar.<br />
School Nurse<br />
A full-time school nurse will be<br />
present daily to address<br />
emergencies, monitoring of medical<br />
conditions and addressing student’s<br />
individual health needs.<br />
Special Education<br />
Children enrolled as general<br />
education students are not eligible<br />
for speech therapy or<br />
transportation. Students whose<br />
performance suggests they could be<br />
at-risk for future difficulties in<br />
school may be referred for review<br />
by the Child Study Team.<br />

Integrated Preschool Program<br />
<br />
The <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong><br />
<strong>Public</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>’ integrated<br />
preschool program offers 3<br />
and 4 year-old students an<br />
enriched preschool<br />
experience. The program’s<br />
approach combines<br />
engaging lessons and<br />
activities with centerbased,<br />
structured and free<br />
play time. These efforts<br />
are intended to promote<br />
children’s progress toward<br />
achieving key<br />
developmental milestones<br />
and prepare them to meet<br />
the demands of<br />
Kindergarten.
Core Program Goals<br />
Helping children develop ageappropriate<br />
language and<br />
communication skills and<br />
academic, Kindergarten readiness<br />
skills are the central goals of the<br />
program.<br />
Students are exposed daily to a<br />
language-rich environment and<br />
lessons and activities are<br />
developed to promote the use and<br />
generalization of these skills.<br />
Core social values are another<br />
key element of the preschool<br />
program.<br />

Curriculum<br />
The Creative Curriculum serves<br />
as the basis for instruction. This<br />
program is approved by the New<br />
Jersey Department of Education<br />

Jersey Preschool Teaching and<br />

Program Eligibility<br />
To be considered for the<br />
Integrated Preschool, children<br />
must be:<br />

Residents of <strong>Hanover</strong><br />
<strong>Township</strong><br />
Age 3 by October 1, 2011 or<br />
Age 4 by October 1, 2011<br />
o Children who are<br />
eligible for<br />
Kindergarten or are<br />
5 years old on<br />
October 1, 2011 will<br />
not be accepted.<br />
Fully Toilet Trained<br />
A lottery system will be<br />
used to determine who is<br />
eligible to attend.<br />
o Selected students<br />
may attend for a<br />
maximum of 2 years<br />
(i.e., while 3 and 4<br />
years old)<br />
o An alternate waiting<br />
list will be developed<br />
through the lottery<br />
system, based on the<br />
demand for<br />
enrollment.
