Early Childhood Development Program
Why choose our program for your child?
Prospective parents often ask, “What makes for a great pre-school?” Here at the JCC,
we offer your child consistent opportunities for exploration, learning and discovery,
starting from infancy all the way through to pre-k. We understand the importance of
establishing a rapport between caregiver and parents. Therefore, we encourage parent

FALL 2015 REGISTRATION
Our Early Childhood Development Program
(ECDP) is currently accepting registrations for
the 2015-2016 school year. Enrollment has
been moving very quickly and space is limited.
Some classrooms are already full, and we have
started wait lists. The JCC of Syracuse 2015–
2016 school year scholarship application
deadline is July 15, 2015. Scholarships are
based on income. For more information about
our program, to discuss your needs and to
schedule a tour, please contact Jo David, early

TEACHER APPRECIATION DINNER
Many thanks to everyone who donated toward
purchasing Target gift cards which were
presented to all teaching staff during the
Teacher Appreciation Dinner on May 5. We
appreciate your generosity in helping us make
this a successful event!
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Our parent teacher conferences, being held
May 11–22, offer a great opportunity to reflect
on and share observations. We hope that this
second set of meetings provide a fascinating
and fresh look at your child’s growth and

ECDP pre-schoolers will
soon be able to experience the fun and
excitement of summer camp during the
school year! Our sneak preview to camp
week will be held May 26–29 during regular
morning pre-school hours. Children will get
to enjoy a variety of summer camp related
arts and crafts projects, games, outdoor
activities, swimming and special treats.

ANNUAL BASKET RAFFLE
We’re gearing up for one of our biggest and
most fun fundraising events of the year! Each
classroom will be creating a special themed
basket to be raffled off. We ask that each family
please bring in an item or two by Friday, May 29
to help fill their basket. The completed baskets
will be on display near the front office. Raffle
tickets will be available from Monday, June 1
through Monday, June 15. Your help in selling
tickets to friends, family and coworkers is much
appreciated! Tickets cost 1 for $1, 6 for $5,
13 for $10 or 30 for $20. The winners will be
drawn on Tuesday, June 16. You do not need to
be present to win.
END-OF-YEAR CELEBRATIONS
The Early Childhood Development Program will
celebrate the end of 2014-2015 school year with
the children putting on special performances.
Registration
Our ECDP Summer Camp is a weekly
program (monthly for infants) which runs
from June 29 through August 21. We offer a
variety of flexible weekly enrollment options
such as Monday–Friday; Monday, Wednesday
and Friday; and Tuesday and Thursday. The
following four time options are also available:
9 a.m. – 1 p.m., 7 a.m. – 1 p.m., 9 a.m. –
3:45 p.m. and 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Parents of children in classrooms 4 and 5 will
be invited to join us on June 5 for “Songs and
Sundaes.” During this very special circle time,
parents can join their children in singing some
of the favorite songs learned throughout this
year, and enjoy an ice cream treat together. On
Thursday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m., the children
in classrooms 6, 7 and 8 will participate in
their “Moving Up Morning” celebration as they
perform some special songs. The children in
rooms A, B and 2 will take center stage on the
morning of June 15, performing for family and
friends during the Annual Pre-K Graduation
Ceremony. Following the performances, the
graduates will walk across the stage and
receive their pre-k diplomas. Immediately
afterward, families are invited to celebrate this
special day with a pre-k picnic. Invitations will
be sent in June.
