Our tours to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean
are always popular and we have added some brand
new destinations for 2014 to complement the old
favourites. Our inaugural winter tour to Lake Kerkini
in northern Greece (January 2013) was a big success,
so we are offering two short breaks there next winter
plus a brand new week-long holiday in the spring.
Tours to Portugal, the Canary Islands and Madeira are
also new and we are introducing four more trips to
France: The Dordogne for Wallcreepers (February),
Butterflies (June) and Dragonflies (July), and the
Cévennes (July). Many of our Southern European
departures are single-centre holidays, as we are
finding these are becoming increasingly popular.
GREECE

to Sombre Tits, Cirl Buntings and Short-toed Treecreepers, birds were seldom
in short supply during our bird-filled January 2013 visit to this picturesque
corner of Northern Greece... We expected a lot and were not disappointed!

Dordogne for Wallcreepers

NEW! This short birdwatching tour to the Dordogne, in southwest France,
goes in search of Wallcreepers and other wintering mountain birds, plus
Common Cranes, woodpeckers and all three of Europe’s kites. Designed
and led for us by David Simpson, author of the book Birding Dordogne.
Our last two spring tours sold out very quickly and, with the added allure
of a range of alpine birds, this February visit should prove no less popular.

Spring Migration

migration sites anywhere in the Mediterranean. Whilst many migrant herons,
Quail, buntings and wagtails pass through, there are also two unique and
