a week of terrific late autumn birding in wonderful Extremadura - the wild
heart of Spain. Birds of prey in abundance, plus Great and Little Bustards
on the steppe, thousands of wintering Common Cranes and so much more.

Highlights of our 2014 schedule of tours to Northern
and Eastern Europe include short breaks to Romania
to see and photograph Brown Bears from hides in the
mountains of Transylvania, and new trips to Hungary
& Slovakia, Sweden in autumn and two winter breaks
to Iceland entitled Orcas and Northern Lights. There are
exciting revisions to our spring and autumn tours to
Bulgaria, and a visit to Romania in search of Europe’s
most beautiful goose, the Red-breasted. Also returning
to our schedule, our tour to Finland & Norway in June.

This popular short break focuses on the rugged coasts and interior of the
southwest, where we seek out Iceland’s winter birds. Specialities to watch
for include Gyr Falcon, Harlequin Duck and Barrow’s Goldeneye. Set amongst
some of the newest and most dramatic landscapes in Europe, and with
a chance to see the spectacular Northern Lights at night.

Orcas & Northern Lights

NEW! Few mammals express power and beauty as well as the Killer Whale,
especially when seen against the backdrop of dramatic Icelandic cliffs! This
new six-day tour to Iceland in winter spends some time searching for Orcas
near Snæfellsnes, but also seeks out some of Iceland’s special winter birds,
including Gyr Falcon, Harlequin Duck and Barrow’s Goldeneye. We also have
a chance to see the spectacular Northern Lights at night or Humpback and
Minke Whales during the day.
