Scope<br />

Construction of 36-inch, 3,900-feet long twin siphons beneath the Fore River from the<br />

Idlewell section of Weymouth to the southeast corner of the Exelon Energy site in North<br />

Weymouth. Constructing 1,000 linear feet of 36-inch to 54-inch new sewers in Idlewell.<br />

Construction of a new 28-mgd Braintree-Weymouth Pump Station which will handle<br />

flows from Hingham, Weymouth, and portions of Quincy.<br />

Rehabilitation of 2,000 feet of Section 624 in North Weymouth.<br />

Installation of 1,700 linear feet of 42-inch siphon pipe between Newell Playground and<br />

Aspinwall Street in North Weymouth to act as second barrel of existing Mill Cove<br />

Siphon.<br />

Interim rehabilitation of the existing Braintree-Weymouth Pump Station.<br />

Technical assistance for the Town of Weymouth for hydraulic modeling of its sewer<br />

system, leak detection for the water system, and mitigation.<br />

Consulting services related to the tunnel shaft excavation.<br />

Radio systems for the intermediate and replacement pump stations.<br />

Install gates which will allow staff to remotely flush out the site as needed, and will<br />

reduce odors.<br />

Several facility modifications are needed to improve facility safety, reliability, and<br />

performance. Design and construction improvements are required to address deficiencies<br />

in odor control, solids handling, and pumping operations. This project includes a study to<br />

determine deficiencies and corrections for the grinder room odor control, grinder<br />

equipment, and wastewater pumps.<br />
