Getting You The Right Coverages
Continued from previous page
“CCA members should not assume
they have the health insurance coverage
that’s right for their organization
or their family. That’s a dangerous
assumption. It’s pays to investigate,
even if you only get back the assurance
that you actually have the right
coverage at the lowest price.”
Health plans are complicated, Chris
explained, and price is dependent on
the coverage desired, deductible levels,
size of the group and utilization
data.
“I had one chiropractor who was paying
about $30,000 a year to just for
his own family’s medical insurance,”
Chris recalled. “After reviewing his
needs, we offered him a plan that appropriately
covered him and also his
staff and cut his annual bill in half.”
Warren G. Bender Co. is offering a significant
bonus to CCA members who sign up for a costeffective
group health plan. With five or more
employees participating in the plan, you will
receive access to the California Chamber of
Commerce’s excellent Human resources program,
HRCalifornia Express.
HRCalifornia Express is the latest Web site
by CalChamber, designed for those new to managing
HR issues. It provides HR Basics, Forms & Templates, Wage
Order Wizard, Required Posters chart, and a glossary of the most
common terms. On HRCalifornia Express, you can get the basic information
you need with streamlined, step-by-step instructions on
how to stay compliant with California employment law.
If you think your office is too small to
qualify for a group plan, think again.
As few as two people—which could
be a husband and a wife, or a chiropractor
and a receptionist—can qualify.
And, group plans are usually less
expensive than individual plans.
“Some insurance agencies don’t like
to write small group health plans,
especially if they are combined with
high deductible plans” Chris explained,
“because there’s not a lot
of profit in them. But here at Warren
G. Bender Co. we are big enough to
have the economies of scale that enable
us to write this business. Plus,
it’s a tremendous service that we can
provide to our customers—so, naturally,
we want to offer this.”
As usual, Warren G. Bender Co. is going
the extra mile for their customers.
They have arranged with the
California Chamber of Commerce to
make available their excellent Human
Resource program, called HRCalifornia
Express, to every doctor’s office
with five or more people enrolled in
a group health plan. This is a $2,000
value, given to CCA members for
free. For doctors with less than 5 employees,
this service can be obtained
at the substantially reduced price of
$40 annually.
