Admin Console Administrator Quick Start Guide Security prerequisites To access the Admin Console, you must have the following: Tip: Refer to the System Security Administrator Quick Start Guide for details on how to set up security permissions in EFI Pace. • An EFI Pace administrator user ID and password • Security permissions to access the Admin Console through EFI Pace or through the appliance server • Direct network access to your EFI Pace server Tip: If your PC is not “inside” the network, you can use tools such as Windows Remote Desktop Connection, T-server, and Putty, to access the Admin Console. 7/23/2010 6
Admin Console Administrator Quick Start Guide Log in to the Admin Console 1. From the EFI Pace main menu, click Administration, then move the mouse over System Setup, then over General, then click Admin Console. EFI Pace prompts you to enter the administrator network ID and password. Note: The administrator network ID and password is different from your EFI Pace system user name and password. 2. Enter the administrator network ID and password in the User ID and Password fields, respectively. 3. If you want the system to retain your user name and password, check the box in the Save this password in your password list field. Note: You should not check the box in the Save this password in your password list field if you use a shared computer, as this field eliminates the need to log in to the Admin Console. 4. Click [OK]. The Admin Console main page appears. 5. Do one of the following, based on the information you want to view: • Click on the Administration/Management tab to view links for administrative and managerial tasks, such as viewing system logs. • Click on the Interfaces tab to view links that affect interfaces with other components, such as printer configurations and EDI. • Click on the Backup tab to view links that enable you to back up your EFI Pace system to a CD or share drive. • Click on the Upgrades tab to view links that enable you to perform point release upgrades on your system. • Click on the Other Utilities tab to view links for administrative and setup tasks, such as restarting your appliance. • Click on the Customization Tools tab to view the link to download and run SDK files, download the standard forms for EFI Pace, enable or disable customizations, view the UI tag library and run the Version Comparison tool. • Click on the Object Model Diagrams tab to view links for graphical views of the EFI Pace business objects. • Click on the Crystal Clear Setup Files tab to view links for downloading the Crystal Clear Designer setup files, Postgresql JDBC driver, Crystal Clear properties file and Crystal Clear font files. 7/23/2010 7
