20. Classifications <strong>and</strong> adult minimum wages<br />

20.1 Adult employee minimum wages<br />

The classifications <strong>and</strong> minimum wages for an adult employee, other than one<br />

specified in clause 20.1(c), are set out in the following table:<br />

For the purposes of clause 20.1(a), any entitlement to a minimum wage<br />

expressed to be by the week means any entitlement which an employee would<br />

receive for performing 38 hours of work.<br />

The following adult employees are not entitled to the minimum wages set out<br />

in the table in clause 20.1(a):<br />

(i)<br />

(ii)<br />

an adult apprentice (see clause 22—Adult apprentice minimum wages);<br />

a trainee (see clause 23—Trainee minimum wages); <strong>and</strong><br />

(iii) an employee receiving a supported wage (see Schedule E—Supported<br />

Wage System).<br />

Schedule B—Classification Structure <strong>and</strong> Definitions.<br />

20.2 Higher duties<br />

An employee engaged for more than two hours during one day or shift on duties<br />

carrying a higher minimum wage than their ordinary classification must be paid the<br />

higher minimum wage for such day or shift. If engaged for two hours or less during<br />

one day or shift, they must be paid the higher minimum wage for the time so worked.<br />
