TEAM APPROACH
The challenge of developing sustainable industrial
parks and investment zones requires a holistic,
integrated approach. The successful delivery of such
major projects needs both, a robust framework of goals
and performance objectives and the skills to plan and
deliver within these targets. We are delighted to offer
you the combined skills of the German Sustainable
Building Council GeSBC (DGNB) and Happold Consulting,
with the former being a globally operating institution
benchmarking sustainability and Happold Consulting
being a major player in strategic planning of cities,
regions and major developments.
Both companies have a long track record of joining their
skills to further push for higher sustainability standards
across the construction industry. Recently the DGNB
and Happold Consulting agreed to jointly develop a
new certification system for large scale industrial and
commercial developments with direct relevance for the
tasks to be delivered within this project.
In our work we adopt a logical, evidence-based approach.
Accountability is essential for the formation and
implementation of sustainability objectives. Sustainability
touches on a broad range of issues to be discussed and
agreed with numerous stakeholders. Tangible objectives
and a sound evidence base are of utmost importance
to depart from standard towards innovative and more
sustainble solutions creating value for all stakeholders
involved.
We believe that the design of industrial quarters must
be informed by a comprehensive understanding of the
regional economic drivers, the clients’ objectives, the
project challenges and the wider influences. In all our
projects we seek to align the protection of environment
and resources and the planning of infrastructure and
urban areas to provide a compelling value proposition to
the businesses and workers who will make this economy
possible.

consolidate and focus project outputs at key project

global experience and expertise in the planning and
delivery of projects of a similar scale. Our team’s global
focus provides us with a comprehensive understanding
of trends in urbanisation, mobility and development.

sustainable regions. It will be essential to the success
of the project to balance our knowledge of innovative
global best practice with the long experience and
understanding of local conditions and challenges.
