TED KLEINER, AIA, JOINS STV AS VICE PRESIDENT
New York, August 16, 2004 – Ted Kleiner, AIA, has joined STV Incorporated as vice president, as
part of the firm’s aviation/transportation facilities practice. In this key position, Kleiner will focus
on program management and facility planning within that group.
Kleiner has more than 30 years experience in the management of complex, multi-billion
dollar capital plans in the aviation field. Kleiner recently retired from the Port Authority of New
York & New Jersey. He joined the Port Authority in 1971 as a staff architect, working through the
ranks to become the assistant director of their aviation department. In this role, he directed the
agency’s $11.5 billion public/private partnership for capital investment programs at John F.
Kennedy International, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International and Teterboro airports. Among the
programs under his direction were the privatization of the new International Terminal 4 and the
redevelopment of landside infrastructure, both at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Prior to
that position, Kleiner served as program director for the JFK Airport’s redevelopment program,
directing all the activities to complete the agency’s $7.4 billion public/private partnership with
airlines and other aviation businesses to rebuild the international airport.
STV’s aviation/transportation facilities practice develops multi-modal transportation and
aviation facilities nationwide. The practice provides facilities planning and architectural services
for airline terminals; bus terminals; ferry terminals; rail stations and support facilities; tunnel and
bridge gateways; vehicular toll plazas and other nonpublic facilities that support the country’s public
transportation networks.

Kleiner received his Bachelor of Science in architectural technology from the New York
Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in urban planning from the New York University. He
is a registered architect in New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He
resides in Forest Hills, NY.
