In this position, he will continue his role as a director of major rail transit projects with thefirm’s national Transportation and Infrastructure Division. <strong>STV</strong> is a leading architectural, engineering,planning and construction management firm with 31 offices located throughout the U.S.<strong>Taksali</strong> is an accomplished project manager with more than 40 years of experience in the design andconstruction of transportation systems, including light rail transit (LRT), heavy rail, bus rapid transit (BRT)systems; yards and shops, and maintenance facilities. He is experienced in managing multidisciplinary teamsof architects, engineers, and specialty subconsultants to produce a coordinated, seamless design. <strong>Taksali</strong> hasdeveloped a strong working relationship with a multitude of public agencies in California, Arizona and Utah.These include Caltrans, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Agency, Los Angeles City Bureauof Engineering, Los Angeles Department of Historical Preservation, Bay Area Rapid Transit, and the citiesof Los Angeles, Pasadena, South Pasadena, San José and Santa Clara, CA, as well as Salt Lake City, UT,Phoenix, AZ, Valley Transportation Agency, and the Utah Department of Transportation.Since joining <strong>STV</strong> in 2000, <strong>Taksali</strong> has served on a number of award-winning assignments. Thisincludes the restoration of both the Arroyo Seco and Los Angeles Bridges for the original Los AngelesCounty Metropolitan Transportation Authority Pasadena Blue Line project, and the American Society ofCivil Engineers (ASCE) Project of the Year Award for the San Diego Old Town LRT Extension. He recentlyserved as the assistant project manager for the Los Angeles Metro Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit system, adesign-build assignment, where he managed preliminary engineering and design development of right-ofwayand infrastructure for this $300 million extension of the Los Angeles Metro Orange Line to the SanFernando Valley.He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics, chemistry, and math from the University ofRajasthan; a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science;and his Master of Science in structural engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
