<strong>The</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> models comply with<br />

all statutory requirements in<br />

respect of frontal, side, diagonal,<br />

rear impact <strong>and</strong> roll-over<br />

protection.<br />

<strong>The</strong> bodyshell structure incorporates<br />

a highly resilient passenger<br />

cell offering exceptional crash<br />

protection. At <strong>the</strong> front of <strong>the</strong><br />

car, <strong>the</strong> cell is protected by a<br />

patented system of longitudinal<br />

Impact energy is largely<br />

absorbed, ensuring minimum<br />

deformation of <strong>the</strong> passenger<br />

Additional features include a<br />

is designed to absorb impact<br />

forces from <strong>the</strong> longitudinal<br />

members <strong>and</strong> thus protect both<br />

<strong>The</strong> upper section of each door<br />

features additional reinforcements<br />

(3) which enhance <strong>the</strong><br />

overall rigidity of <strong>the</strong> car. In a<br />

frontal impact, this upper load<br />

path (4) helps to channel energy<br />

into <strong>the</strong> sides of <strong>the</strong> body<br />

<strong>and</strong> thus fur<strong>the</strong>r protect <strong>the</strong><br />

passenger cell. In a minor<br />

collision, a system of easily<br />

replaceable impact absorbers (5)<br />

prevents more serious damage<br />

to <strong>the</strong> bodyshell structure.<br />

Driver <strong>and</strong> passenger airbags.<br />

Both full-size front airbags have<br />

a two-stage inflation capability,<br />

with deployment dependent on<br />

<strong>the</strong> nature <strong>and</strong> force of impact. In<br />

a low-speed collision, <strong>the</strong> airbag<br />

is only partially inflated, <strong>the</strong>reby<br />

reducing occupant discomfort.<br />

Porsche Side Impact<br />

Protection (POSIP).<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> models are equipped<br />

with Porsche Side Impact<br />

Protection (POSIP) as st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />

Specifically designed to shield<br />

<strong>the</strong> head <strong>and</strong> upper body area,<br />

it includes side-impact protection<br />

beams in each of <strong>the</strong> doors as<br />

well as side head airbags for each<br />

front seat. <strong>The</strong> generous airbag<br />

volume ensures optimum<br />

protection over <strong>the</strong> entire seat<br />

adjustment range. <strong>The</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong><br />

is also equipped with twin thorax<br />

airbags in <strong>the</strong> sports seat<br />

backrests. <strong>The</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> <strong>RS</strong> has<br />

additional impact protection<br />

padding on <strong>the</strong> door panels.<br />

O<strong>the</strong>r st<strong>and</strong>ard safety features<br />

on <strong>the</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> models include<br />

integral head restraints, an energyabsorbing<br />

steering column,<br />

height-adjustable three-point seat<br />

belts with pre-tensioners <strong>and</strong><br />

force limiters, energy-absorbing<br />

structures in <strong>the</strong> dashboard area<br />

<strong>and</strong> flame-retardant materials<br />

throughout <strong>the</strong> interior. In addition,<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> <strong>RS</strong> has a bolt-in<br />

rear roll cage as st<strong>and</strong>ard.<br />

Key security features on <strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong><br />

<strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> <strong>RS</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>911</strong> <strong>GT3</strong> include<br />

an engine immobiliser with in-key<br />

transponder <strong>and</strong> a comprehensive<br />

alarm system featuring contactsensitive<br />

exterior protection <strong>and</strong><br />

radar-based interior surveillance.<br />

<strong>The</strong> alarm is activated or<br />

deactivated using <strong>the</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard<br />

key remote.<br />

Vehicle tracking system.<br />

Optional protection includes a<br />

factory-fitted preparation enabling<br />

future installation of a vehicle<br />

tracking system from Porsche<br />

Tequipment. In <strong>the</strong> event of<br />

<strong>the</strong>ft, <strong>the</strong> system enables remote<br />

tracking of <strong>the</strong> stolen vehicle<br />

across most European countries.<br />
