3.12 PERSONAL MAUSOLEUMS<br />
MUNICIPAL POLICY<br />
CHAPTER 3 - CEMETERY<br />
AMENDMENT<br />
The following requirements shall be fulfilled for the placement <strong>of</strong> a Personal Mausoleum at <strong>Riverside</strong><br />
<strong>Cemetery</strong>:<br />
1) A personal mausoleum may only be placed in the designated area established at the cemetery.<br />
The area designated for a Personal Mausoleum shall be adjacent to Sections A & C, east <strong>of</strong> the<br />
cemetery drive and adjacent to the cemetery perimeter fence.<br />
2) Lot sizes shall be 30ft x 30ft. The mausoleum shall be centered within the lot.<br />
3) Mausoleum size maximum shall be 8 crypts with a approximate size <strong>of</strong> 15ft square.<br />
4) Lot price: $5,500.<br />
5) In addition to the lot sale, owner shall contribute 10% <strong>of</strong> the completed construction cost <strong>of</strong><br />
the mausoleum to the cemetery perpetual care fund. Maintenance on structure is the<br />
responsibility <strong>of</strong> lot owner. Perpetual care funds are utilized to maintain the grounds adjacent<br />
to the mausoleum as well as long term maintenance <strong>of</strong> the structure in the event the owner fails<br />
to fulfill the maintenance needs.<br />
6) Mausoleum shall face the cemetery road, however family name may be placed on both ends.<br />
7) The specifications <strong>of</strong> a mausoleum shall be subject to the approval <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alma</strong> with the<br />
following minimum requirements:<br />

Owner shall obtain all applicable building permits<br />
Building shall be manufactured and constructed by an established<br />
mausoleum company, subject to the approval <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alma</strong>.<br />
Manufactures shall provide a 30 year minimum warranty certification.<br />
All fasteners shall be <strong>of</strong> stainless steel.<br />
All exterior surfaces shall be constructed <strong>of</strong> 6" minimum thickness durable granite or<br />
marble. Polished surface is recommended.<br />
Floor shall be <strong>of</strong> one solid piece design.<br />
The foundation must conform with local building code requirements and<br />
constructed by an established masonry contractor, subject to the approval <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Alma</strong>.<br />
